Went out confidently this morning to run the 2nd run of week 5……. “ I can do this!!! Ive done it before!!! I’m feeling strong and rested !!” Strong yes, rested hmmmm, very broken nights sleep, which probably contributed to my rookie mistake.
I walked along briskly, enjoying the lovely crisp morning, but dazzled by the sun even though I had my running shades on this morning… and as Laura said “ that’s the end of your walk. Are you ready? Now run” I pressed the lap button and off I went. Slow and steady, don’t burn yourself out in the first 8 minute run…and then she said “you’ve run for 4 minutes, just 4 more to go”and I glanced at my watch to see how I was doing…. And it said “Resume?”. NOOOOO!!
I had accidentally pressed Pause button instead of Lap button, being half asleep probably didn’t help. So quickly pressed resume and carried on. So ended up with my 5 min warmup walk and 4 mins of my 8 min run merged into 1 lap. Grrr!!🤬. The rest of my run went ok and I had a bit left in the yard k when I finished but I’m so annoyed at myself.
The funny thing was my daughter had done her run just before me and as I went to text her, to tell her of my c**kup, she texted me to say she had pressed stop instead of lap after her last 8 mins because it said low battery and she panicked. Pressed resume but instead of doing it as another lap it’s joined them together so she can’t see how fast her last 8 min was. Weird we should both get it wrong in the same day.
So I walked on home, praised my youngest two cats for the lovely Robin they had caught for me 🤢( I love them but they are such animals at times!!!) and popped it in the bin, which was just about to be collected and then stretched and showered.
Hopefully Wednesdays 20 minute run will be less traumatic. Only 1 lap after all 🤣🤣
