Consolidation run 4, turned Juju’s magic plan run 1! (Run 31)

Runningwithhoney profile image

Decided to run for the cool down walk today, as I’ve been reading-doing week 9 with Sarah this week. After the 30 minutes I was feeling like I had another few minutes in the tank and decided to pub myself to run through the cool down walk, which gave me an extra five minutes which was just right. Now time for Yoga!

It’s great that you’re sticking to your consolidation runs but I’d advise caution pushing at this stage. Our fitness levels improve much faster than our muscles and tendons and this is how we can get injured so easily.

I know it’s easy to get carried away but you’ll become a much stronger runner if you stick to your 30 minute slow consolidation runs for a while and keep doing the cool-down too 🙂

Hope you enjoyed your yoga 🧘‍♂️

Thank you! I’m going to consolidate for a few more weeks yet, I’ll keep one of the runs at 35 minutes but make sure the other two are just 30 mins. The yoga was so hard! I used to think yoga would be calming but my god it was so difficult and I was so sweaty by the end- definitely a full on work out for me 😂

Well done starting the plan but be cautious about overdoing things at this early stage. It’s all about slowly progressing , avoiding injury and training the muscles for these new distances. Keep the pace down for your longer runs as you build up stamina. Happy running 🤗

Thanks Grannyhugs, I’m going to keep with consolidation and resist the urge to do more. 😊😊

Remember every consolidation run builds miles in your legs preparing you for running further, try mixing up your routes to keep things fresh. I consolidated with 9 runs, others will consolidate for months. See how you feel.🤗

Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it 😊 I’m just so impatient! I’ll use 9-12 runs as a base line and listen to my body thereafter x

I would echo previous advice !The magic plan is for after your consolidation period , be careful pushing early !

Thanks instructor57, my knees are actually hurting today so I will stick to consolidation for another few weeks. How long should I stick to consolidation for roughly? I’m very goal oriented and find it helpful to have a time period in mind 😊

Great to be keen, but wise to be cautious. It’s fantastic that you feel you have extra to give. Keep all that extra energy ready for ju-ju’s Magic Plan. Enjoy 😊!
