Been struggling with a twinging Glute over the last week and taking it easy.
All felt ok on Friday, but decided to still have a slow run.
My Garmin told me 1st km was 6’17” oops (slow is 6’45” - 7’ for me), try and slow a little but spotted other runners coming towards me, 2nd km 6’00” ah it’s not going to be a slow run then. Always struggle judging my pace.
Decided to just see what happens and dispense with trying a slow run, The second half of the loop is uphill, we’ll a gradient really, anyway the 4th km was sub 6’40” and my heart was trying to escape from my chest 😂, eased off a little for the last kilometre, and then really slowed on the last 0.3 to start a slow cool down.
Was amazed to see 5km come up in 31’06” a full 63 seconds off my previous best time, which was on a flatter route - crikey I may even get sub 30’ on a 5k if this carries on…
It has stopped again as that Glute is niggling again - a little longer off 2-3 days and try again.
Not too upset though 😀
