Well, that was a hot one today!

Even though I went out first thing this morning I could feel the heat. There's very little shade along the tracks at this time of the year so I kept it slow and short.

It was a nice peaceful run though with just the birds to keep me company - even the hares and deer were keeping their heads in the cool today 😊

Well done for going out early! I envy you, I just don't have the courage to get up earlier to run before work. It's just not in me. As for keeping it short, that's also recommended in hot weather. Better get 30 minutes in and feel good, than run for an hour and almost die trying!

Yes 30 mins was all I could manage today. I agree with you that it's not worth making yourself ill or headachy for a longer run. Normally first thing in the morning is nice and fresh but it didn't feel it this morning.

I found things warming up quickly when I got out this morning, too. If I'd been out at 7.30 instead of 8.30, I'd probably have got away with it.

Well done.

Thanks. I did get out by 7.30 but it was still a hot 4k

That sky looks hot...well done you, I'd have to be out earlier to survive without shade at the moment.

Yes me too. I moan when it's cold and wet but actually I think hot running is harder. But it is nice to see a big blue sky and sunshine 😊

Hot running definitely harder, never thought I would say that as I soooo hate winter....but....Running is easier!

Wish I had fought the duvet this morning and run before work like you. I will have to go later this evening-it's going to be short , slow and very hot!

Take it easy and hydrate before you go. Hope you have a good one 😊

I got lucky there is now a lovely cool breeze as I sit in the garden with my post run coffee.!

Ooh that sounds better than getting back in full heat and sun. Maybe I'll do an evening run next time....Glad you managed to get out though.

Well done, it's not easy running in this heat. We were out walking the dog at 6.30 this morning and even then it was really warm! Make sure you drink lots of water, it's so easy to get dehydrated in this weather πŸ’¦πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ

Good tip. You don't realise how easy it is to dehydrate.

It might be worth wearing a running peaked cap Lifluf. I wore one on Tuesday mid morning and it certainly helped.

Never leave the house without one Dexy. Keeps the sun off in summer and the rain off in winter - it's looking rather faded now but I'd feel naked without it πŸ˜„

Definitely understand the heat thing (and feel so lucky for all the trees where I run), but I’m focusing now on you soaking up the peace and birdsong. ;)

I'm very lucky with my running routes and I do appreciate the space and peace. It always clears my head no matter what the weather.
