A Warm and Muggy 3.5K

So, my last run was a 10K for the London virtual vitality run .

So following my sequence, today would be either 3.5 or 5K.

It was quite warm and muggy out there so decided on the 3.5

I really need to pick my run frequency up again but with working all week and being too tired after work and having many other things to do weekend is my only option , perhaps I should get back into the habit of early morning runs πŸ€”

So anyway, set off nice and steady for a 3.5K and was feeling ok, but a little sluggish, it only took a few minutes and I was feeling quite warm even though I was wearing my thinnest shorts and t shirt, there is just no air !

No watch watching or music on this run , just concentrating on form, breathing and surroundings .

Nothing really much to report , it was just a steady run !

Mr Garmin was unimpressed and kept my stats the same .

I don't think he likes me running just once in 7 days .

I must make an effort to get him back on side 😁

Back home , stretches done and a mug of tea .

Then it will be a quick shower and watch the F1 😁

There still seems to be an issue uploading pictures to posts ? πŸ€”

Every little helps, so the saying goes. I start my last week of C25K tomorrow and finish Friday, they I have to run without Laura encouraging me along. Being retired I’ll still run three times a week and push weights on other days. It’s growing old disgracefully! Keep πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Thanks, good luck with your final C25k week !If you want guided runs after that then try the NRC (Nike Run Club) app πŸ‘

It can be so hard fitting in our running around work. I have luckily, just had half term off but tomorrow will be back at school, which means my weekday runs will once again be later in the day after work (I am a bit of a night owl, so getting up even earlier is just not going to happen!😴 )Well done on getting out there for your run despite the heat. I also ran this morning and found it warmer than expected! πŸ™‚

Yes, it's difficult with work ! During C25k I was out before 6am some mornings !

I can't get up these days though 🀣

I have the same problem, getting up at 7:30 feels like it used to when I had to get up at 3 or 4am to catch a flight or something 😴 🀣

Yes, used to do a lot of that for flying myself ! In a previous job 😁

Well done, Ian! One run a week is better than no runs. We do what we can! I’m afraid it was so muggy this morning I decided not to run. I took a cup of tea back to bed. Knew I shouldn’t have done that πŸ˜‚ Well done to you for getting out there πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

At about 5.30am it was drizzling round my way and the temperature hadn't dropped much (min was 15Β°C). I went back to bed too.

Thanks Jools ! πŸ‘I did that also !

Can I ask you a question please, why is my 10Mile badge not showing beside my name? Wondering if it got something to do with site problems like not being able to upload pics?

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to sparky66

No, it will only show in the Marathon forum , just like your Graduate 10 only shows on the bridge and you graduate on the c25k

Badges only show on the forum they are awarded in

No pictures for me either, good you got out. I struggle with after work runs and have decided to run every day or walk even if for only 10 minutes, it’s my working weekend and a short run is a good break between work and home relaxing, Enjoy your evening

Well done Ian, at least you got out, like Julia says, even one run a week is better than no run! I'm the same, not having so much time at the moment, sometimes been 9 or 10 day gaps between runs, and this warm weather does make it harder! Anyway, i've been running 9 months now, but feels much longer, which must be a good sign! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜€πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Thanks Peter, yes we do what we can .The time soon goes dosent it , I'm now in my 13th month πŸ˜³πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

3.5 K is already a lot in this weather, it's almost irresponsible to run in this heat. But you did it and that is another run dusted and done!

Very well done on getting out there and doing 3.5k in this heat! I've started training for a half marathon and it was a choice between 5k or speed work yesterday morning. I didn't think I'd be able to last very long so did the speed work (27minute fartleks with NRC). I went out at 8 but it was so warm and humid I was a bit dizzy when I got home πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅ Mr Garmin is also not impressed with me at the moment, maybe this heat is making him grumpier than usual 🀣
