Bit discouraged

Just a short one here. Ive been busy painting in the garden this week. Spent 5 hours painting benches and part of fence on Monday, then second coats on Tuesday ( could hardly move), then did my plastic chairs to match on Wednesday.... yesterday I was in agony - I hadn’t slept, every joint was aching so I had a day off but today after a second dreadful night not sleeping due to pain and discomfort I thought I’d just do a short Pilates session to limber up ( which helped) and went for a 20 min run. Just over 2 miles at about 15 min mile and yet again Garmin and Strava decided I’d gone for a walk!!!!

There are people running slower than me !! ( I know I AM slow but really???) 😡

Anyway I’m glad I went but it was a bit disheartening. 🤣

Off in the shower now and then more painting, skirting boards this time. Then the rest of the weekend to relax

Oh but I did get a compliment on my leggings 😄

How rude!!😠 Fast or slow or somewhere in between, we are all runners I’m my opinion. Don’t listen to Garmin or Strava Lou, we know better! 😊Good job in the garden too, by the sounds of it.🙂

Your leggings are wonderful they remind me of a mermaid 🧜‍♀️I think Mr Garmin and Mr Strava are just having a grump, you were running and you know you were so they are wrong!

I know that feeling of doing way too much in the garden and then feeling the pain...... Ouch

Thankyou - I have so many now!! I just got another 5 pairs in the sale for £17( Kukubird) and then a free Tetris patterned pair for joining the Facebook fan club 😄

I spent so many years in boring black workwear that I now wear as bright as I can. And now I am a silver vixen my former red hair doesn’t clash with anything 😜

Oh I'm going to have to nick the term "silver vixen" 😂👍😂 Brilliant 😊

That Garmin is definitely a bit rude right enough. On the other hand - you are the Leggings Queen and we bow to your excellent taste!!!

I’m not surprised you got a compliment on your leggings. Lovely! Well done for getting out there AND for your painting marathon. You must be pleased it’s all painted, ready for spring ✅

Thankyou. I am now wearing deep pink dragon scales after having had a lovely soak with a bath bomb after I finished repainting my sitting room skirting boards. They had already had two coats before Xmas but there were a few knocks from when my lovely son put the lovely new floor down for me so I thought I’d give them a fresh coat.

A Garmin smart watch is actually not very smart at all. So I have taken the liberty of making mine dumb. I took all the smart features off it. It is just a watch. It is not a sports scientist. I tell mine when I’m doing a run and I tell it when I’m doing a walk. It does not get the opportunity to decide, I do that. It calculates only Pace, Distance, Time and Heart Rate. Everything else is disabled.

I’m in the Garden all weekend, I’ve a blister on my hand already and I’m sure I too will have some aches and pains afterwards.

Mine has been fine for the last 3 years but it’s taken a dislike to me lately. 🤣.

Don’t overdo it in the garden!!!

I’ve been aching since I finished on Wednesday. When I was doing the benches I was bending and crouching a lot so my hips, knees, calves and ankles took the hit. And then the 2 days of fence painting was stretching up and over to one side so it was my shoulders and ribs, and neck from squinting up against the sun.! And my wrists are painful a lot of the time anyway but several days of holding a brush in a fixed position made them much worse. After 2 nights of not sleeping I am taking a Nytol tonight.

Sleep well and hope you get a good rest. I’m just working on the front and back lawns trying to rejuvenate them after winter. I scarified them two weeks ago and now that all the moss and thatch has been removed there are some bare patches. So I am going around with a spring rake, fork, rake and a mixture of grass seed and top soil filling in all the bare spots. My 18 year old lawn mower has seen better days. It owes me nothing so I will go and buy a new one next week.

I had a problem with Strava when I thought I’d changed it from walking to running .. it took a bit of fiddling with the settings but it’s defo now on running .. but it wasn’t that straightforward (well not for me) so try again .. nice leggings 😂

Gorgeous leggins! And tell Mr Garmin to behave himself! Maybe that’s why don’t have a Garmin, with my ultra-slow Niko Niko pace, he‘d probably tell me that I’m standing still. 🤣🤣

It’s weird cos I’ve run slower before and it’s clocked it as a run. 🥴

I knew it! There is a little drill sargent sitting in those gadgets, with a mind of their own!

Just looked at mine.. clicked on my picture and you can change the mode there .. but you probably know that .. hope you sort it out .. all my tech failed today apart from the record bit 😂

Thankyou. Yeah I like slow running, where you can look around at your surroundings as you run

I love looking in front gardens lol, gives me ideas for mine, and running in wide open spaces gives me a chance to look at the view

Yeah I never know when to call it a day. I go out to sit in the garden, spot a weed or a dead flower and I’m up pruning and deadheading and when I turn round 4 hours later there’s a mound as high as me on the slabbed area. And I’m too tired then but I still have to chop it all down and bag it up before I give in. And then I’m done in for a couple days.

Every year I say “ just going to do a bit at a time....” and do I? Nope!!!
