Can anyone recommend a timer?

I've just finished C25K and am now using Run with Hal to move up to the next level. The plan is great and works out a time for distance based on your usual pace, but without a timer I lose track of time and I do miss the half way round ding-ding as well. I've tried the NRC but can't get on with the American motivational talks. Any ideas gratefully received.

I liked Run Keeper for this before I got a watch. The free version is easy to figure out and I found it very flexible.

I know of one correspondent here who used a kitchen timer!

That was me lolMy "Famous Kitchen Timer" :)

It was PERFECT for me lol

Set the countdown time, run, it beeped, press one button and it would count down again for the next interval.

Simple, ultra reliable, lightweight and very easy to see the display :)

I got a present of a Garmin-type watch this Christmas, its kind of fun but basically the only thing it really tells me besides the time is how "slow" I am lol. :)

What a great idea. I might seriously go for this. I already set out with Map my run, Run with Hal and a podcast/audiobook goign on the phone. If i have to set anything else on my phone i'll never get out of the house 😀

Map my run is good, until you embrace the inevitable and get a Garmin watch 🤣🤣🤣

What do you mean with a timer? I use a Gymboss timer on my arm which beeps / vibrates every 4:30 and 0:30 for my run / walk intervals. Otherwise you can also use Runkeeper, you can ask it to inform you every 1 km or every 10 minutes or whatever.

Strava is great for tracking runs. I felt the same with Coach Bennet on NRC but he really grows on you over time and has some really great interviews to listen to while you run. NRC is not as accurate as strava I find.
