The NRC 'Another 5K Run'

So in my mix of runs the intention today was a steady 5k run so I decided on the NRC 'Another 5K Run'

A few little nuggets of inspiration along the way but nothing spectacular haha, but it kept me aware of my run so I shouldn't complain 😁

I still have a little bit of a niggling ache, but not entirely sure where from , either hip or lower back (seems to merge into one !)

It's nothing severe or painfull, rather just an annoying ache which im not really aware of while actually running but it makes me a little hesitant to push on with distances or speed (actually, no not speed, I'm really not interested in that anymore)

Pace is something that just falls out of my watch at the end of the run now and that's about as much attention as it gets haha πŸ˜‚

I'm more interested in my form and having a comfortable run which I can enjoy .

So, nothing much more to say , apart from I don't know why the NRC App will not record my elevation πŸ€” ?

So it was an enjoyable 5k run , and surely that's what it's all about !

VO2Max remains unchanged today

Enjoy your runs , πŸ˜πŸ‘

Well done Ian!

You are so right - it's so easy to get fixated on reaching that next milestone distance - be it 10k, 10 miles, HM etc. or chasing the next PB that we lose sight of why we bother to run at all.

It's nice to just enjoy your runs without worrying about any of that stuff. It takes away all of the pressure we can place on ourselves, which often we don't even realise we are doing.

Incidentally your pace was almost identical to my last 5k on Thursday. Spooky! πŸ‘»

I hope that niggle doesn't develop into anything else. Take care and happy running! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜

Thanks Diane πŸ‘Oh, similar times again ? Hmm....our 7.5k's were also similar haha 😁

And yes, I've stopped worrying about all that distance and pace stuff and I enjoy the runs more having done so πŸ˜πŸ‘

Well done Ian πŸ‘ You should have unlocked a limited Spring 5 badge on the NRC App having done that. I had a message about it this morning, saying if you run 5k before 23.03, you unlock it 😁

Haha, that's true 🀣

Well done and also well done for not caring about your pace. I know many DO care about their pace, but I'm of the opinion that if you run comfortably without pushing too hard, you will be able to keep running for a longer period (seen in years I mean) with less risk of injury. Hopefully the back / hip won't play up!
