5k to blow away some cobwebs! πŸ˜€

Well, it's been a very strange, quite often sad week πŸ˜₯ had my mum's funeral on thur, which was very sad, but nice to, just 20 of us there, just glad it's over now.

Helped my daughter, running buddy, move into her new flat, which feels strange, so tonight did a 5k on my own, hadnt run since tue, and felt good, and much needed, but was also thinking about my vrb's going through their own problems.

Anyway, have a good evening. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Big changes in your life Peter44. I'm glad to hear the funeral went as well as could be expected. Its a good job you've got running. Will you still be able to meet your daughter for a run sometimes?

I'm sure when things are more normal, we might do a park run near us.

That’s one tough week that your run will help, takes time to leave the sadness behind and remember the good time but it will ease

There's been so much happening in your life lately but running is the one constant thing that you can control and it gives you some headspace. Happy that you went for a run and that it helped. Well done!

I’m glad to hear the funeral went well Peter. I felt a weight had been lifted off me when my mothers was over, as I just wanted it to go well and give her the send off she deserved. I’m still trying to come to terms with my loss and have good days and bad, I’m sure you’ll be the same, it’ll take time but the running definitely helps.

Thanks CP, just glad it's over, i know how you feel, emotions can be all over the place, think your doing ok, then just hits you again πŸ˜₯ time really is a great heeler, as i have found out, life goes on, but you never forget.

So glad you managed a 5k run. Such a hard tough week for you. Doing your run will definitely have helped clear your head. Grief was the reason I took running up and it certainly got me through.

Thinking of you today x

Hi Peter, glad to see you’re out and about after a very hard week and that those niggles seem to be behaving. It’s nice that it’s getting lighter and the weather is changing as it gives more time to get out in the fresh air- makes you feel much better. I’ve been sticking to 5ks too- enjoying the shortness of them after being at work all day

So far so good 🀞 i think the two week break, and bigger gaps between runs, is helping.Hope those kids are behaving, now i'm back at work, 5k is plenty, for evening runs.

Glad to hear that the funeral felt nice, that you are through this extremely tough week, and hope that the longer-term healing can begin. It’s so good that you now have your running to help out here. Take things gently.

Sorry you are have having such an emotional time right now - it must be exhausting. I hope that 5k energised you a bit? That is so lovely of you to think about others given the time you are having. Sending big virtual hugs your way.

Dear Peter, I am so glad to hear your Mum's funeral went well and you were able to have a small group of family and friends there to pay their respects and support you. It can feel like such a big relief once the funeral is over, I imagine a run was just what you needed. I remember after my Dad's funeral last April, that evening I went for a very long walk (pre-running days) and the gentle rhythm of movement, the repetitive nature of one foot in front of the other and looking at nature all around, spring flowers bursting through helped me mark an important moment passing in time. A return to gentle runs for you sounds like it could be a perfect tonic to help you through these emotional days and I'm so glad the rest has helped your aches too, a nice bonus 😊 I'm still on the IC.. starting to think I may have to restart C25K when I come back, and I don't know when that will be yet. Seeing a specialist this Thurs, hope to know more then what is going on as not sure it's just shin splints πŸ˜”

Thank you R4L, it is a sad time, but something we all have to deal with at some point, and even when you know it's coming, still hurts. Your run, post Dad's funeral, sounds like mine, nothing was going to stop me, any aches/pains, just weren't there, was actualy quite a strange feeling. Not sure you'll need to start c25k from beggining, maybe just ease back slowly, but i really hope you get to the bottom of your injury troubles, we all seem to be slowing up a bit, even Jericho not doing his HM's just now.Anyway, hang in there, we're all in this together! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜Š
