Tomorrow is another day

I set off this morning with all good intentions to do my long Friday run, building up to HUHM in a couple of weeks. Just after the 1st k the heavens opened and a biting gust of wind almost swept me off my feet as I arrived at the canal I made the decision to run a 5k instead and chose the lesser of the waterlogged path on the canal to make my way home. Blow me, not 15 minutes after making this decision the rain dried up and a glimpse of sun appeared for a brief moment. Despite wearing good kit I was soaked through and my feet squelching and I was getting colder, I decided to continue with my plan and complete the 5k and get home for a warm shower- after 18 months of running this is the first time the weather has stopped me when I’ve started a run.

Tomorrow is another day and hopefully I can get out there and do the long run with an extra 5k in the bag for LEJOG04 and COGH

I hope you're nice and warm now. It sounds like a wise decision to change to a 5k that wind its ferocious.Good luck for tomorrow

The weather has been really crazy Over62. Rain on its own is okay but those gusts of wind can really knock you side ways. Well done👏👏👏
