Well, so far so good, pain in groin definately feels less ๐ค on each run now, i think spreading out time between runs is helping, still quite slow, did about 60 mins today, fitness seems ok, stretched it today to 7k, quite comfortable, obviously big week coming up, not looking forward to thur, might fit in a run on wed evening, has been good to be back at work, focus on other things, vaccine booked for 18th march.
Enjoy the rest of weekend, if running, or resting. ๐

Good that you seem to be getting over your hip/groin issue. 60 minutes is a nice run! It wasnโt long ago that 60 minutes of running seemed like an impossible target ๐ Might be an idea to run Wednesday if you can. Anything that helps.
I know, blimey, still remember my first 60 min run ๐ฅต, was even thinking about a run thur morning, will see how things go, I might try a 10k next weekend, probably sunday, as helping my daughter move on sat.
Glad you had a comfortable run. I think slow is the right thing to do to avoid anymore injury. Iโm definitely doing snail pace. Would rather do that than be on the injury couch again. Finished my last deep tissue massages yesterday. Iโm brand new ๐and thatโs how I want to keep it.
I can empathise with how you are feeling as it was a year yesterday since my mams. Iโm sure you will have everyoneโs support here on this forum.
Thank you Dups, i'm actualy quite good at doing slow, as it's my normal pace for now, sorry to here about your mum, it's sad, but part of life I guess, must have felt strange for you then, with the first lockdown, so soon after ๐ฅ
Glad to hear your all repaired now, running is such a help with all this madness going on.
Sounds like your body is recovering and youโre getting some longer runs in- Iโve done 5โs again this week so will have to put the effort in for a bit longer on some next week!
Itโs the worse physical injury wise from running Iโve ever had to be honest!
Hip hurts just going on walks, not the whole time though. But not good.
However Iโm keeping positive thoughts going and I just think Iโm going to be on IC a lot longer now. Thatโs what I need and have no choice as I wouldnโt be able to run even if I wanted to. Thanks for asking Peter, really appreciate that๐
You'll be back, like you said in a previous post, having signed up for this running thing, we've got to expect some injuries along the way, blimey, i'm 57, surprised i got this far, without any major injuries, you've discovered running, while still young, wish i had done, life just got in the way, keep your posts going, we'll try and help! ๐คโบ
Thank you BL, yes, feeling much better now, will still take things easy, dont want to un-do everything, it's mad how much we miss running when sat on IC.
You definitely will feel better, the lead up to it is tough as itโs all thatโs on your mind and you just want it to go off well. When itโs over it feels like a weights been lifted.
I used some of the sleep meditation videos on YouTube as my mind just wouldnโt shut off, and they helped. They might help you if your struggling to drop off to sleep.
Very best wishes for the week ahead. It is good that you are able to get out and run again, and hope that it can help you. Small runs are still runs, and often key in training plans, so just popping out for a very short, very slow jog will all go to build up your strength and help keep injuries at bay. Or maybe try some jeffing?
Thanks Gail, yesterdays run had a few walk intervals, as my daughter was struggling with stitch pain, has been for a while now, she's moving out next weekend, so i'll be running solo again.
Just popping on to say I am so pleased you are making a gentle comeback and the hip and groin are behaving themselves. Long may that continue and you get out for some short runs to keep your hand in the game. You have an emotional week ahead of you. I'll be thinking of you on Thurs as you say goodbye to your Mum. Having said goodbye to my Dad in April last year, I can say the funeral will go so quickly, try to be present in your mind of the day and what is happening. Deep breathing helped me so much. It is a stressful situation but so important to honour your Mum which I am sure you will do well.
Thank you for your kind words, i know what you mean about trying to remember the day ๐ฅ didnt know you'd lost your dad, last year, at least we're aloud 20 people, which i guess wasnt the case last year.
So far so good with the running ๐ค hope you'll be back soon.
