Shoe wear?

I need some shoe advice, so I've noticed my toe has started poking through, these are ASIC kayanos, and I've not had them a year, I've run 409km in them, I absolutely love them, they are so supportive and I've never had any rubbing, so my first thought is should I contact ASICS re warranty, but I'd expect they'd just say wear and tear, do running shoes not last that long and I'm expecting too much? If I buy another pair should I go up half a size? Any advice?

I get the same. They still work fine. Doesn’t bother me at all though they look a bit scraggy. They’ve not got much more mileage in them. The range at which you change is between 500 - 750km. By the time your toe is through it’ll be time to get new ones.

I’m posting a picture of my Sauconys at 800km. I’ve got new ones but the old ones are so great I wear them now at the gym or for exercise other than running. It’ll be in separate post because I can’t seem to post a pic in the comments.

Apparently a lot of people suffer this and it’s purely down to your feet and the way you run. My husband is the same because his big toes are very long. His shoes are mizuno. Our running shop does a service where they can put a patch inside a new shoe to prevent this. But, at the end of the day, it doesn’t effect the performance of the shoe. The important thing for your feet is the soles. I’ve been known to repair hubby’s shoes but it doesn’t last .

Usually running shoes should be half to a full size bigger than normal shoes to allow the feet to spread and swell while running. A thumb width in front of your longest toe

I do think the other foot hasn't done it because it's slightly longer and has hit the toe bit towards the end and created a raised bump instead, but these shoes feel a good fit, I just wondered if an extra half size would mean it didn't happen, I might try see if I can patch them on the inside, I'm not bothered about how they look but I felt it happening and that felt strange feeling my toe start to poke through and put me off a bit.
