Unfortunately I am not back running yet, but I am building up my strength with the walking and my big achievement is that I returned back to work today after 6 weeks off and really felt that I wanted to share that with you.
I am hoping to be able to start running, very slowly next month.
Really enjoying reading all your posts so inspiring and I look forward to be able to post about my running very soon ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ

Glad you were able to get back to work Rebeca, and that your feeling better, it's obviously really taken it out of you βΉ and hopefully you'll be back out running soon. π€
Yes it is unbelievable isnβt it was great reading about your RED in January!
I had it on Wednesday, so pleased. Felt a bit anxious about having it whilst having the long Covid symptoms as was worried I would feel really rough but apart from additional fatigue, achy arm and feeling a bit off was fine, so relieved I have had it, especially before going back to work.
I literally cannot wait!!! Lol I cannot tell you how much I canβt wait to run my first km!!!
Amazing you are doing the London virtual marathon βοΈ
Ah Rebecca, itβs so good to know you are back at work, horrible virus to catch, my daughter had it back in the summer and although not as serious as a lot of people it was the scariest time i think weβve ever had x
Ah bless her, yes it really is so awful. How dreadful for you all. How is she doing now? I feel so blessed plus so lucky to have a job to go to. Thank God we have hope with the vaccine x
Itβs beginning to look like the vaccine is making a difference, daughter is fine now but was tired out for a long time after she returned to work sheβs a pharmacist at the hospital so itβs been a busy year Just rest when you need and donβt rush yourself you will find your energy come back x
Great that you're finally feeling well enough to get back to work- but you will be shattered for a while I'm sure. Take care, Spring will soon be here - ready for you to run when your body will allow you.πΊπ·
Yey! Great to see you back! Looking forward to reading about your running journey again.
(Also, Iβm sure you know, but feel invited to pop over to our sister forum Strength and Flexibility. Some of us are doing Yoga everyday and there are also other workout suggestions coming through regularly)
Lottie kindly mentioned it to me. I would love to try some yoga have been thinking about that for ages but I have never started it. That can be another goal for me!
So we just post links and discuss our progress on here, but when you see the videos, youβll see there is a much larger global community chatting on YouTube comments as well. (But we chat better ππππ½)
And I just dropped a post to initiate the new week (last week) of Bridge healthunlocked.com/strength... . (Weβll be continuing with next monthβs calendar Iβm sure)
Hi Al,Thank you so much. I may repeat the whole C25K again. I really like having structure and I feel safe knowing that it builds up gently and it works!!
Hope you are keeping well, how is your running going?
I am on the IC at the moment, yesterday I had to walk my 49th virtual (not) parkrun, my right leg has been sore for a few weeks now, it's a mild form of sciatica, if I walk fast or run it gets a bit sore, hopefully, it won't be long before I can get back to running, I hope I won't have to repeat the whole of the C25K again, perhaps a few weeks starting at week 3 which I hope to do next Saturday as part of my 50th virtual (not) parkrun.
Hi Al, sorry to hear you are on the IC I hope your leg feels better soon. That sounds like a great plan. Horrible not being able to run. Wow imagine your 50th virtual (not) parkrun that is incredible ππ look at the time that has passed. Take care and good luck for next Saturday
Glad to hear that you are well enough to return to work. Walking is a very underestimated way of getting fit...and Iβm sure you feel better for being outside.
Thank you so much Lottie yes that is true! I feel so much better once I have been out for a walk. You are doing amazing with all your running and Yoga. I am going to start the yoga in March. Take care
Lovely to see a post from you, hope your return to work went well. Glad to hear your feeling better and your strength is returning, hopefully youβll soon feel strong enough for a gentle run.
My first day back went well felt great to be back working. I have been so fatigued today but was expecting that. Feels such a positive step to be back at work. Hopefully I will soon be back out there.
Itβs good to hear youβre back at work. Itβll take it out of you for a while Iβm sure so pace yourself and get plenty of rest. Hope you get back to running soon. Iβve been for a couple of short very slow runs this week and am glad to say I coped well and my breathing wasnβt a problem. Iβm taking it step by step tho. Returning to work tomorrow after 3 weeks. Iβm sure Iβll be shattered but Iβm glad to be getting back to some normality. Randomly my smell and taste have just come back π. Suddenly I could smell the dinner cooking and Iβve have tasted every mouthful. It was so delicious after 3 weeks of nothing yum π xx
Oh bless you, so sorry to hear you have had the virus π€π.
That is so incredible that you have been able to go out for a couple of very slowly runs this week, so glad your breathing wasnβt a problem. Did you experience any chest tightness?
Good luck today in going back to work today, yes so lovely to get back to some sort of normality. You are doing so well. My first day back went better than expected but yesterday I was so exhausted, but I expected that.
Gosh that must have been so amazing to be able to smell and taste again, you must have really enjoyed that dinner.
Take good care and enjoy you first day back at work ππ€
No chest tightness when running. My chest has cleared really well. My main issue has been painful sinuses. They are easing now too Iβm glad to say as they were causing headaches. Take care x
That is fantastic. Oh really that is awful, so glad they are easing all very positive. I am still getting some chest tightness but is feeling a lot better thankfully. My postnasal drip has been really bad since having the virus and that can cause chest tightness as well.
