It’s been a week since I’ve run, mainly because it’s been snowing and sub-zero and I didn’t want to risk slipping over aloe getting a cold (does everyone who gets a cold now immediately think “oh no, COVID!”?)
So I was worried that I might have lost form, but it seems like the week off didn’t make a huge amount of difference. The run went well, I did 8.6kms and kept an even pace throughout. The hard part I guess is the length of the run, it involved a few loops as I didn’t want to venture into unknown territory at night 😂
I think I’ll be ok for the 10km milestone in a few weeks.

I'm with you on the icy paths.Sounds like your run ws fantastic.
I am due out Sunday - 8 days since my last run. I might wait until noon as it will warm up. I aim to do a 5K and get baack on the Bridge to 60 minutes (hopefully 7K) from Tuesday.
I went for a walk today to check most of my route and there was still a bit of ice around.
I had my Covid jab on Friday and felt a bit tired today. It might be because I just slept strangely, maybe I moved onto my arm where the jab had been and it woke me up twice! All soreness is virtually gone now.
I am lucky to get jabbed so soon. My theory is that the Doctors bumped me up the list as I have asthma - 6 years ago I was off work for 6 weeks with pneumonia then asthma. But since then it is well controlled - and it has been even better controlled since running. Also I reckon some older folks were not going because of the bad weather.
Brilliant effort on your new distance. Loops are good when there are problems like dark or snow. I did 6 loops of our village (total 14km) last monday in the snow much to the humour of those digging out their cars🤣 your 10k run isn't far off now. Happy running 🤗
Good going there. I reckon there's a few of us, me included, haven't been out because of the weather. I was hoping the snow and ice would melt a bit today but not so far...I reckon you are good for the 10k no worries. Just keep going as you are 👍💪
