Running's a funny thing...

Does anyone else find that they can't tell how fast they're going? I've been looking at my watch less - gloves off, cuff up, look at watch, cuffs down, gloves on - too much hassle. I frequently find that I think I'm bouncing along and I'm going the same speed as usual or slower! . Recently, I'm happy to report, I've been running consistently faster, but generally it hasn't felt like it. Yesterday I got a new 5K PB. 31:32. Tantalisingly close to the magic 30 mins. It was a flatter run than usual. Definitely connected!

It really is funny! When Mr Strava pipes up with my stats at the half km mark, quite often I’m like “really?!” Also I noticed that when I’m running against the wind I end up actually being faster than usual, I’m guessing due to overcompensation to push through the wind. Well done with that 5K PB, so close to the 30 mins. Flatter routes definitely help too! 😊
