Impressive running effort to raise funds for youth mental health charity

Hello,

This is my first post, although I have been an avid reader of this forum since I finished C25K before Christmas, picking up lots of tips & motivation to help me to keep moving (so thank you, everybody)!

I just wanted to share with you this story about Ben Hope, a 19 yr old uni student, who is running +1 mile every day throughout Feb to raise money for the mental health charity, Young Minds. It means by the end of Feb, he will have run 406 miles, with 20+ mile runs every day for the last week of Feb.

We used to live in the same village as Ben, and did a school run carshare with him and his brother, and my two boys. He's lovely, and I think what he's trying to achieve is amazing. He doesn't know I'm posting this here, btw!

If you want to follow his exploits and possibly give him some tips or encouragement, then he's posting daily updates to Instagram under the account name plusonemile. I'm sure as he gets closer to the end of the month, wider support will become more and more important.

I will certainly head over there Wellingtonian and give my support - YoungMinds is one of my favourite charities. 👍🙂I offer emotional support to children in Primary school and am very aware of how hard YoungMinds works to support the needs of young people and children, particularly those in secondary school. Amazing effort by your young friend - what a great challenge to take on.🙂👏👏👏

Thanks, Sandraj39 - I'm sure he'll really appreciate it. I bet you are being kept particularly busy right now - tough times for all, but particularly children - it's brilliant there are people like you there to support them.
