Nice, comfortable, much needed run today, pain in thigh/groin, not too bad, once i got going, slower than usual, usual route past harry potter, then down onto the canal, quite a few other people out walking/ running, but not too bad, anyway, a good hour out running, to help forget other things, if only briefly.
Hope others have been able to get out today, with more snow on the way. ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ

Nice run for you today Peter44, I am glad that the pain isn't too bad, I did go a run this morning, however, my right leg is still a little sore, not too bad during the run but gets quite sore when I finish, I'll rest it for the rest of the day ๐ ๐๐พ.
During the winter months I usually go a long walk in a Sunday morning, tomorrow I will go a slightly shorter walk, my leg at the moment isn't too bad but I would not fancy another run until at least next Wednesday.
Great 7k, glad the pain is easing and you found the run a temporary relief from worry. Lucky you with the sun, we are in the midst of the Scottish weather warning so getting my 7k without being drowned and blown away was a real bonus. Take care and happy running ๐ค
Thanks GH, weatherwise here, probably the calm, before the storm, you tough scotts, must be used to it ๐ช glad you got your 7k in today, i'm going to stick to shorter runs this month, probably a bit too much in jan!
Thanks Indielass, definately helped โบ and the thigh pain, not too bad, the slow pace was what was needed, never know wether your north, or south, but we've got snow coming our way. ๐ค
Iโm a Yorkshire lass and Iโm hoping to head back but at the moment Iโm in the South West. You can take the lass out of Yorkshire but you canโt take Yorkshire out off the lass! As the saying goes ๐
Yorkshire is beautiful! Parents still live there and missing my mum loads. My youngest child is changing so much. Not seen them since last summer. Hoping things improve so we can visit. I am feeling better thanks though. Lots of dancing to music in the kitchen! โบ๏ธ x
Thatโs so hard to contend with ๐ two of my besties had babies during lockdown. One is fast approaching a year old and sheโs yet to meet her grandparents. Itโs so sad ๐ I do hope things are looking brighter by springtime. Dancing and running in the meantime are good for the soul ๐โบ๏ธ
Iโm lucky that me and my OH drive so we could go over last year. But my brother and his wife canโt so my mum hasnโt seen him and my niece for over a year. Mums finding it really difficult. I know people have had it a lot worse but it still doesnโt take away the fact we miss each other.
Iโm hoping to run Friday ๐ค๐ป, all being well.
I love music so the dancing and walking will have to do until then and youโre right they are good for the soul โบ๏ธ
Ah, i did wonder which bit of coast you show us, that big hill you always talk about, makes me think of my coach work trips, to swanage, and lot's of hills, down to the town! ๐ฅต
7K -good run- think that distance is my favourite- itโs what I would call a nice Goldilocks run- not too much, not too little, just right ๐ ๐๐ป
Yes, same here, quite a comfortable distance, even after a week of, but kept it slow, which i suppose is quite normal for me, are you able to get outside for some runs? ๐ค
Yeah Iโve been out today and Tuesday - 6K each time-finding it a big change getting used to being back running outside though rather than on the treadmill- thought it would be just the same but finding it tiring and making my muscles ache
Thanks CC, was good to get out for the run today, even went for a walk this afternoon, for some more head space. Very up and down really, had a call from nurse, at my mums care home, saying she's now at end of life stage, not really eating, or drinking, was aloud to see her yesterday, which was nice, but also very sad. ๐ฅฒ
It's just SO rubbish when feeling low- SO MANY people out there with a lot of worries and sadness, and I don't have ANY at all!- I've been there, though.!! Hope you feel better for getting out there today- in the sun!!
Terrible time by the sound of it, Iโm guessing sheโs quite ill now as I know she had tested positive but was showing no symptoms. My thoughts are with you.
Thanks, ironicly it's not the covid, she had no symptoms, just doesnt eat, or drink, and her body is shutting down, i should be used to this, as have been through it with both my sisters, and wife, but doesnt get any easier. ๐ฅฒ
So sorry Peter, youโve had a hell of a lot to cope with, youโre right it doesnโt get any easier, itโs good the running helps and lovely that you can share it with your daughter, Iโm sure your children are a great support to you. Keep running, keep posting, thereโs a lot of support on here for you too.
Hey.. glad to hear you got out for a nice easy 7k in the sun ๐ and even better, your thigh and groin issues are not holding you back from running. I am missing my regular runs, still on the IC here.. physio orders to rest and rehab my shin splints for another 3wks ๐ฅบ but I did get out for a 5k walk to enjoy the best of the weather, and watch all the runners enviously!!! Ahhh ๐
Ah, there you are, was wondering where you'd got to, sorry to hear your still not able to run โน if i'm honest, i could've done with a longer rest, as a bit achey now, not sure really if it's groin, thigh, or hip ๐คทโโ๏ธ was just in the need of a run today, and while out, no pain really. With snow coming, will probably have some more rest anyway this week. You'll be itching to get back, after this time out, but nice to get some walks in. ๐
Hee hee, yes here I am! Have been lurking a bit and feeling sorry for myself but yesterday I got on with the physio exercises and am making a plan. 3wks of rest and rehab and I hope to make some tentative baby gazelle steps back, as Bambi suggested ๐ Hope your thigh and groin strain issues go away but sounds to me like you need to do some rehab and stretching too! There are loads of good programs to find on YouTube etc. Iโm now spending 30mins every morning just on stretching and it is really helping (I hope!) Boring as obvs Iโd much rather be out on a run but Iโve realised I canโt have one without the other as well as strength training so Iโm forming a new plan every Sunday for the week, quite busy!
Thanks, i'll have a look at those stretches, although i have an idea i might have over stretched, after a run, and dont laugh at this โน think i felt something, in groin area, as i got out of bath, after one of my long runs, maybe the 10 miles โน we've not had much snow here yet, but will have another 2/3 day rest, then see how it is. ๐คHow long have you been out now?
Well, sounds to me like you need to be careful and give yourself a bit of time off to rest that groin niggle and incorporate some very gentle stretching if it feels ok to do so. Maybe with this wintry weather now itโs a bit easier not to overdo it and take it slowly this week.. Weโve had snow today in south London but itโs not settled too much, more coming tomorrow! Itโs 3wks today since my last run ๐ I feel like a big part of my life is missing, weird?! My new physio said I was running too much so when I get back to it, Iโll build up from one run a week to two max I think (if Iโm lucky)!
I know I probably did a bit too much in jan, I was doing 10k's for fun, but although they felt pretty comfortable, was obviously a bit much too soon, it's a shame really, as could really do with running at the moment, but I'll be sensible.Sounds like a good plan, for your return, taking it slowly.
