Half The Distance Double The Enjoyment

Perfect running weather out there today, so kit on and out I went, lovely to be out in the fresh air.

I chose the NRC Just Another Run, a 35 minute recovery run, which seemed just right, no 12k punishing slog today, just a nice gentle run. Chose my normal route and it was a different run to my last one altogether. Coach Bennett was his normal chirpy self with lots of words of wisdom including something that seemed quite fitting......’The best teacher you will ever have is yourself’ 🤔 I liked that.

As I jogged along my breathing was good, legs didn’t feel heavy and I found myself approaching the Oddfellows Lodge at which point I was tempted to carry on, but no, I didn’t want to end this run feeling exhausted, so I turned around and headed back.

The remainder of the run felt just as comfortable, I resumed the workout when CB had finished and continued the run until I reached home, which was just over 6k.

All in all an enjoyable run today, which has left me looking forward to the next one.

Happy Running Everyone 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Glad you enjoyed it. Always good to give ourselves permission to just enjoy running. (I'm not very good at that - too competitive!). Enjoy your weekend. Hope the sleep continues to improve.

We too have snow forecast for Sunday but so far every time we’ve been promised snow we get rain, the ground is sodden

The Dutch Weather Service has named this storm Darcy, mainly affecting the Netherlands and south east England, up to 20 cm of snow is expected in some areas.

Thanks Littleoyellow....Yeah my own fault that 12k, wasn’t feeling great and pushed myself unnecessarily. Loads better run today, slept better last night and chose a sensible distance....we live and learn. Coach Bennett is always a happy soul and his positivity certainly helps 😁

Well done Couchphoenix! So glad you enjoyed your run. I downloaded the NRC ages ago but have only just started using it - there’s some great runs on there aren’t there. Keep on running! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Couchphoenix profile image
CouchphoenixGraduate10 in reply to Frenc

Thanks Frenc, I’ve used NRC ever since I graduated C25k as I like the encouragement / company of a coach. There’s a good choice on there, I always seem to find one that’s suitable. Coach Bennett can be a bit cheesy but I like him 👍🏃‍♂️

Fabulous run (for you) and read (for us). And it shows you making a wise decision at the lodge with over-reach temptation lurking. What a swift application of learning from yourself!! 👌😁 End on a high, with energy - both physical and mental - to take to your next run. Love this managing of rhythms.
