Heat rash in the cold ?

I’ve been AWOL I’m afraid 😟 - just an update that I’ve been trying some recovery walk/runs on treadmill trying to build everything up after IC 💪 bit depressing really 😪 but trying my best.

All going reasonably well but a bit slower progress than I had hoped for but it is what it is, as they say.

My question really is that I finally ventured outside today and walking/jogging in cold weather gave me some kind of heat/nettle rash effect that was incredibly itchy and gave kinda red/white lumps on my legs - strangely this appears between just above knee down to ankle 🤔 very distinct area !

What is this ? Has any one else had this ? Currently feeling a bit concerned.

Can anyone offer explanation please ?

Wishing all my buddies here a happy running new year x

I had that above my knees at the front of my thigh after a particularly cold, wet run followed by a warm shower. It went away fairly soon after.

Sorry you had it too but in a way pleased to hear I’m not alone. Yes mine went within 30 mins. It did itch like an allergic reaction so will investigate as MM1 suggests

I think it's an allergic reaction to heat/cold that causes urticaria. Basically it seems the body releases too much histamine resulting in the bumps or 'hives'. It's worth googling. I get it in heat.

I'm wondering if it's age related....

I always get this after running, in summer and winter, mostly just above my knees, and it’s always made worse or more noticeable when I get in the shower afterwards. It’s kinda weird but I assumed it was a normal reaction to different temperatures or something :)
