First dark run and I loved it πŸŒ›

β€’8 Replies

Thanks to my lovely family gifting me some wonderful running gear for Christmas, I am now able to run in the dark 🌝. I had a close shave with a car a few weeks ago as I returned a little later than planned from an afternoon run. I was wearing a flourescent jacket, but that didn't seem to make much difference to the car heading towards me a little too close for comfort.

Well tonight I headed out lit up like a Christmas Tree πŸŽ„, wearing the headtorch that my son had given me and the body harness lights from my sister (white torch at the front, red on the back). I also had my flourescent jacket on, so I felt comfortable this time that everyone would see me coming! My husband ran alongside me without lights, happily confident that I was doing enough illuminating for the both of us πŸ”¦πŸ˜†.

It was just a 3k, my second run after injury, but I felt able to pick up my pace a little this timewhich felt good.

Well done! I enjoy a night run too. Some of my best times have been night runs though I can’t put my finger on why.. ☺️

You’re very brave to run in the dark Delly, sounds lovely though now you feel safe. I can’t imagine ever doing it myself unless I move to town. Really good to hear you are able to start running again, and it’s starting to feel good again. Good luck with a great running start to the New Year. πŸ€—

That's pretty commited, but necessary with this darkness! I've only used my head torch once and it did the trick. So glad you're running again.
