After my first 10km run on Christmas Eve I was looking forward to running 5km on Boxing Day. I felt rested and after a relaxing morning and being in all day yesterday I could not wait to get my trainers on and head down to Battersea Park. Like everyone I am sure very different Boxing Day from last year. There was quiet a lot of people in the park. I enjoyed a lovely run round the park and along past the bandstand where I used to run my C25K. I felt strong and my pace felt steady, I actually thought to myself this is a short run today! Something I never thought I would be saying about a 5k!! My Fitbit recoded my race and mapped my run (and I am now on Strava!) my time was 28:31 my second fastest 5k best time has been 28 minutes and my splits were 6:05, 5:38, 5:32, 5:30 and 5:26 which I was thrilled with. I have my last 4km run to finish the plan and then to start thinking about what next!!! 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅
🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅Father Christmas was very kind to me and so impressed how he knew about my love of running!! I got running gloves and AirPods, so delighted.
Happy Running!

Hey! Running gloves and AirPods..... they’re a winner! I haven’t managed to get out these past few days with family over & kids to feed. But I’m hoping to finish the Magic Plan before the end of the year and yet to that elusive 10k 🥳
Great 5k today and congratulations on your Christmas 10k, sorry I missed your post I've been on the marathon forum logging kms for the 2020 challenge, I hope you've joined in with that too with all the kms you are clocking up. Happy running 🤗
Today has been lovely, lazy and cosy, santa brought me a soft cuddley onesie, I’ve never had one before and it’s amazing just like being wrapped in a fluffy blanket lol, i might never wear anything else at home he he We’ve had a lovely Christmas and still a couple more days off work
Yes it’s great to have Christmas off, I’ve worked many, I thought I’d never been seen in a onesie, this one is just cute, and yesterday morning I said to Willow, shall I open all the windows to air the place out? and his answer was, please don’t it’s really chilly in here, I immediately ordered him one because i was toasty warm lol
What a lovely feeling Rebecca when a 5k is a short run ✅ great time btw.
Santa obviously got the memo you were on his good list 🤣
Blimey, another flying run for you! 🥵 well done, sounds like you were itching to get out today, it's funny what you say about doing 5k's now, i feel like that too, and never would have dreamt i'd say that 🤣 what's happened to us! 🤔
Wireless headphones 🎧... and I myself am beginning to want some as well, although still a bit too expensive for me. I’m also conscious of the battery drain as I’m such a slow runner that I fear the battery wouldn’t last if I’d added Bluetooth.
Wow !! 🤩 🤩🤩🤩🤩 you managed 10k for Christmas! What a present to give yourself! 🎁
I’m still on week 8, having decided to maintain that stage until after the holiday season as I knew food and family celebrations 🎄🎉might get in the way of the time I’d need for running 8k. (10k will take me 2 hrs, <gulp>) So I am maintaining with delightful 5ks at the moment, but will be following in your footsteps soon!!!
Ah thank you so very much!! I am still smiling and telling everyone about my 10k!! It felt so wonderful to achieve it.
I am thinking of doing another 10K next week. I am planning to keep repeating week eight of the plan.
That sounds like a good idea. That is brilliant that you are managing to get out and run your 5k’s when you are so busy. I can’t wait to read your posts after the holiday season. Good luck and happy running 🏃🏻♀️🏅⭐️
