I had a really busy day today so was not able to go out for a morning/ early afternoon run so I went for a run late afternoon in the dark. Don’t normally like to go out at the end of the day but I really wanted to stay on target and be complete week two this week so I decided I was going to go for it! I started running from home (normally do 15 minute warm up walk to the park). As it was dark I did not fancy my normal route in the park so ran around the river and over the bridges it was so beautiful and magical seeing all the bridges lit up (Albert and Battersea Bridge). I couldn’t believe how much I was enjoying my run and I felt really strong. I did run through a part of the park which was well lit and lots of people, when I was heading back. I did not clock watch whilst running which I find so much more enjoyable and hot a lovely surprise when I did look and it was already 4.7km I could not believe how quickly the run went. So I did everything differently and thoroughly enjoyed it!! Think I may invest in a running 💡🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Thank you Ian,

Looks so lovely wish I could run and take a picture at the same time, I have not worked that out yet!!

Lol! I think I might be starting to bore people about it, find myself talking about running a lot now!!!

Many (!) years ago, before the M25 was completed...we would have to drive through London to visit family in Kent. My (then) young children would call Albert Bridge the “Fairy Tale Bridge” when it was all lit up and looking pretty!

A change is as good as a rest...or so they say, sounds like it is for you 😉

It’s good to push yourself, but it’s also good to just run freely and let your body dictate the run, not your watch.

Enjoy! 🥰🐌🐢🏃🏻‍♀️🍁🧡🍂

Ah that is so lovely and magical and describes it perfectly!

Yes, I must say I get stuck doing the same things, so hearing about everyone’s amazing scenic runs on here has inspired me.

It feels so great not to have the pressure and to be free to enjoy the actual run.

Enjoy your run on Sunday, fantastic you are starting week 3, can’t wait to join you next week!

Great run, lovely to take in the sights of the bridges lit up in the darkness, and it’s nice when you surprise yourself, with the time and distance, it’s a real confidence booster.

I bought a Karrimor chest torch and I’ve used it a few times, it’s rechargeable and wasn’t overly expensive (Sports Direct) it’s useful as mornings and evenings are dark now 👍
