I'm on W9 of JuJu's Magic Plan, and yesterday evening had to force myself to go out in the dark for my 5k penultimate run. My legs felt like lead and I hadn't eaten lunch. But I knew I had to go!
The first 2.5k was really tough, and as I reached the half-way point where I knew I should turnaround, I thought I'd just run to the next row of shining lights. The beautiful but sad sight of all those closed shops with their fairy lights still twinkling on the Kings Road made me want to see more. I almost forgot that I was running, and instead, I was window shopping and not thinking about my pace or distance.
Eventually I heard my Strava say 4.5k and I hadn't turned around, so with slight panic I crossed the road and turned to run home. Magically, my legs had become lighter, my breathing steadier and I had a spring in my step!
I kept a steady pace all the way back home, running to the beat of my cheesy 80's & 90's playlist, and thought 'Wow, I could actually run 10k now'. But I wanted to save the elation of my 10k for another day and stopped after 60mins (my best achievement so far).
Does anyone else feel like that? Not wanting the challenge to end? What happens when I've achieved that ellusive 10k? I can't wait to do it, but I also want to save that amazing feeling. A new year, a new challenge I guess - I wonder what's around the corner??
Happy running folks xxx

Brilliant feeling that " I can run and want to go on further" 58soon 👍 running is about learning, and you're definitely learning about running week done 🙂.
Wow you're doing so well! Are you saving 10k for Christmas Eve or Christmas day? I'm going to start the distance magic plan in the new year. Yes, what next? 🤔
Yes I had that feeling on my 10k run. I was busy listening to The Killers and I was jogging very slowly and easily and I did think I could have continued. There were times when my mind was somewhere where else completely and it was a lovely feeling. Even my pace, although nothing like your pace, got a little bit faster the further I was into the run without me realising. It was great 👍
I am actually now thinking about aiming for a HM which would take me approx 3.5 hours. That would be some goal to achieve 👍👍
I am looking forward to congratulating you on your 10k very soon 👍🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🎄🤶🏻
You just wait until you’ve done that 10k, see how you feel straight after you’ve done it, then a couple odd days later see what starts to pop into your mind 🧠 🤓😉🎄🤶🏻
I can't imagine a HM - partly as my hours in a week are so limited. But I have signed up for the London Vitality 10k - would love to see some of my VRBs there in real life 😍🤩😀
That sounds really good. I don’t feel confident I could do anything around others as I am so slow I know I would keep trying to go faster and that would result in me not being able to continue 😢 but I’m good at cheering on someone else though so you never know 😉🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Well done, that sounds a very interesting run, and finishing it, so close to the magic 10k! It's nice when a run, all comes together like that, i've only just got to 10k, last week, not been following a plan really, just been doing two, 4/5k runs, and a longer one, and just kept increasing the longer one. You have a very fast pace, my 10k, took about 90 mins! 🤣I will look out for your 10k post, which i guess, wont be far away! 😀
Thanks Peter44. Well done on your recent 10K. What a great achievement. I think my Strava was being kind to me - my usual pace is 6.40, but maybe Rosabi’s Speed Challenge these last 4 weeks has helped me speed up. Anyway, more important to enjoy the run than push too hard I’ve come to realise.
Omg that is absolutely amazing, well done you 👏👏👏💪💪⭐️⭐️ sounded like a wonderful, magical run and such a great time as well you are on 🔥 🔥🔥🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️.
I can’t wait to read your 10k post.
I am going to sign up for the Vitality 10k once I have ran the big one!!!
