Astonishing first 10k! 😄 🏃‍♀️🎉

I wasn't expecting to do this today, but I just couldn't stop! My first 10k! Lucky it was dark as I literally sprinted the last 2 mins manically laughing 😄 🏃‍♀️, so happy! Love reading all your posts, so uplifting and encouraging, it really keeps me going for it. It will be my 59th birthday at the end of December and to have achieved this is such a boost. My oldest son is giving me a Garmin for Christmas and I can't wait to set it up and go for a run, not something I could have imagined saying a year ago!

Absolutely this. Once you sit in and get comfy you'll be surprised how far you can go. Build up steadily and at a pace you feel good at and you'll get there.

Aw thank you! It's not til 29th, but I'm celebrating every day after this difficult year and I have a whole 2 weeks off work, plenty of time to run and play with my Garmin 😊

Oh wow thank you!! It's amazing to be nearly at your goal isn't and doesn't feel that much of a push to get to the magic 10k in the last couple of weeks. I followed JuJu's plan too, it's a great feeling to tick off those runs. You will definitely get there this week, I'll be cheering you on and have a fabulous celebration when you do and happy Christmas 🏃‍♀️🎄🥉

Hahaha thank you! We must look soo mad, but I don't care and I was running the last bit to a line from a Foster the People track - 'focus on your ability' so I did! 🤣 So good to end this year of all years on such a big high, maybe that's why so many of us are smashing 10k this week!

Good luck with tier 4 ☹, we're still at 2, but I expect it will be lockdown again by January, hopefully the spring will bring good news and daylight running!

Oh wow, well done! It's an incredible journey from being puffed out running for a minute and hating every second to running for over an hour and feeling strong! I ran almost 11k on new year's eve to kick 2020 out lol! It's so icy this weekend here so I'm delaying my next run until tomorrow evening, gutted as it looks sunny and bright but not wanting an accident to start 2021. Have fun! ❄❄❄
