Hurrah !! Have to make a quick confession though - I accidentally logged an extra mile for today’s run/walk but I didn’t have the heart to correct it as my actual distance is just 100.82 miles, and I so wanted that postcard !! Next time I’ll have to remember to under report by 1 mile 😇
Hope they don’t strip me of it - oh well, no matter !
Today was my ‘magic half mile’ run on the Garmin half marathon training plan - week 3 - and I think they are calculating my target race time from that ‘magic half mile’ - so a lot was riding on it 😂 - and magic Garmin tells me I did it in 4 mins 49 seconds - so that’s at a 9.39 minute mile (no idea what that works out at in km). Faster than I was expecting and not bad considering i failed to orchestrate for that part of the run to be all down hill 😂. Here’s me trying to beat my Garmin again 😂 That magic half mile started at the bottom of my least favourite hill - was pretty evenly split between half uphill and half downhill. Wonder what it would have been on the flat ?! My pace for the final 10mins was only 12:19 - but then it included elevation gain of about 40metres because this week I’ve been trying to climb the height of Pen-y-Ghent which i just passed on the Pennine Way - I managed 454metre gain this week, so I’m still couple of hundred metres short - but I reckon I wasn’t starting at sea level anyway and if I throw in the flights of stairs I’ve done (I live on 4th floor !) I think I can say I’ve made it to the summit ! Phew ! Wouldn’t want anyone to think I’m playing loose with my self imposed rules though - I’ll continue my climb plan next week aswelll just for good measure. 🏔😌
What next ? Can I wait a while week till my next long run ?! It will be just over 11k which will be new distance for me. Might have to sneak in an extra run in the meantime ! Or do more hills.... oh joy !! ❤️

9.39 min mile pace is quick! If the plan gets you to sustain that for 13 miles then it will be incredible 😊😊😊
😁 cheesy grin for the ‘quick pace’ praise 😁 but I don’t think the intention is for that to be the HM race pace - it’s just that they use that to work out through some algorithm what you can expect your race pace to be - or what you can work towards - and to be honest I don’t know what that algorithm is or what my pace should be ! When I did 10k my pace (in miles) was 12:32 minute-mile. I guess it might be around the same or slower for HM.....
I think I need a slide rule and a ready reckoner for all this 🤔 but it sounds like you’re doing really well. I’m sure you’ll complete 11k no problem Juliet202 👍🏃♀️
