I had a Dexa scan in 2018. That is the year I started C25K.
I got recalled for another scan a couple last month, and today I got my results from the doctor.
A T-score of 0 is a healthy YOUNG adult
-2.5 = osteoporosis meaning you've lost bone minerals and bone density.
2018
Spine -2.1
Total thigh bone -1.6
Thigh neck -1.1
2020
Spine -2 (so improved)
Total thigh one -1.3 (improved quite a bit)
Thigh neck -1.2 (a bit worse)
Overall it looks like the running, and probably the digging at the allotment have strengthened my bones a bit, which is rather a good result I would say

That is good news. So now you will need to keep running. When all this madness is over I will come and eat a bit of breakfast with you, after our run of course.
Brilliant Baddie. Running has certainly helped my arthritic knees . I’d love to have another scan to prove it and then shout “Running is not bad for your knees!”
That's interesting to me. The main reason I run is to preserve my bone density following chemo and ongoing medication that reduces it . Will keep going then.
Good news Baddiethe pirate. Getting older normally makes these things worse so improvement is not to be sniffed at. I bet you feel better in yourself too.
