I am thrilled to say I have ran 8K this morning, Yaay 😁😁😁!!! OMG I was SO nervous before the run, as I didn’t feel my last run went well so I was really doubting myself this morning thinking I was not going to be able to do it and I was not going to enjoy my run. Well how wrong was I!! I actually had a good steady run, and I really enjoyed it and was thinking just how much I ❀️Running πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ. I decided not to check my watch and thankfully it connected without any issues. I wanted to stay within the park for my first 8k so I would be able to judge my distance and feel comfortable plus I find the tarmac easier on my knees. I checked my watch and saw I had ran 7.38Km, so I gave it my final push. My timing was 46:25 which I am delighted with and my splits were: 6:15, 5:36, 5:44, 5:50, 5:44, 5:44, 5:36 & 5:29 although not perfect negative splits, faster than the splits (apart from one) that I ran in my 7Km. So I am feeling motivated with my progress and new running achievement, I am so happy I can run 8km, thank you for all your support and inspiration. Happy Running everyone!!!

Congratulations on running your first 8K in a very good time of 46.25, I am sure you will be able to run a sub 45. 8K soon, if you run a 10K you will run that sub 60 minutes. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ πŸ‘

Thank you Al. I did feel the difference towards the end of the run, increasing from 7Km to 8km at the end of this week half way through plan. Take care and Happy Running!

8K! Wow!

Great splits, too! I know it’s satisfying when you see the km place gradually faster for each km, but it’s not a requirement to achieve negative splits, just that the second half of the run is faster than the first half. Which yours was πŸ˜€

You are coming on leaps and bounds! Only 2K away from your goal, now; isn’t that amazing? πŸ‘

Ah many thanks Julia. Thank you for confirming that haha, so that is good then. I thought each km was supposed to be negative!!

I know it is incredible, I really can’t believe it, I am 2km away from the dreamed off 10km!! I did feel a difference going up to 8km on the last km, looked like a tomato!!

Thank you for all your advice and inspiration

That's amazing 9weeks2run! So speedy! Well done :)I'm about to try my 1st 8k this weekend but definitely wouldn't be able to keep up with you!

I think I remember seeing that you run around Battersea Park? I run along the river between Putney & Battersea, so may pass by you one day!

Wow, really well done. That is super running. Really really great pace. You’ll have no problem getting to 10K. Happy Running and enjoy the rest of your 10K journey. I could have kept up with you last year but your way faster than me now.

If your ever nervous again about the run just take it nice and easy. Set off at a nice easy pace and hold that pace for the run. You’ll find it nice and easy. Loads of time to work on improving your 10K finish times once you have done a few.

Thank you so much Damien it will feel such an amazing achievement when I get there. I love to run past where I started C25K to remind me how I felt and how I have improved.

Thank you for your advice on the nerves, it has not happened for a while but I will do that if it happens again, thank you.

Yes, I don’t look at my watch anymore whilst running as I find I enjoy it more and don’t want to put pressure on myself, my goal is to get to 10km.

Enjoy your next run
