So delighted to report that I ran 7K this afternoon, the furthest distance I have ran to date. I have to say I have not stopped smiling!! Feeling proud of myself. I decided I would run round the park twice and not look at my watch till that point, which I did and was delighted to see that I had ran 6.30km. My timing was 41:12 and my splits were: 6:17, 5:57, 5:54, 5:51, 5:45, 5:44, 5:30. I really enjoyed this run and tried to keep my pace steady as was not sure I could do it, I thought if I struggle I can stop at 5k and will still be on track for the week. My knee felt fine thankfully. I have noticed that when I tie my laces extra tight it seems to make a difference to my knee. Had updated my playlist and really enjoyed listening to This is Me!! Feeling so motivated πŸ’ͺand really starting to believe I will be able to run 10K. Thank you to everyone for all your inspiration and support, whilst running I kept thinking can’t wait to post an update to say I did it!!

Happy Running πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ πŸ’ͺ🐻

Wow, 7K and you set a cracking pace, too! Well done. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

No way can I run at that pace! Well, maybe for 2K πŸ˜‚. I only made it to 10K because it was slow 😊

Look how far you’ve come! The Magic Plan suits you really well, I think the structure gives you extra confidence, but you already have the ability to get to 10K - you just don’t know it yet πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Ah thanks so much Julia, it felt so good!!!

The time went so quickly, I was surprised. I was focusing on keeping it steady, I knew twice round the park was approximately 6k.

Thank you for encouraging me to do the plan I do love the structure of it and feel so motivated having something to focus on.

Have ordered some new running socks!!!

That's an amazing run Rebecca, well done , and what a pace !!!

And you absolutely should be smiling πŸ˜¬πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘your on fire πŸ”₯

You mentioned your knee is better with tighter laces , do you use loop lacing ?

That might help

P.S, A perfect demonstration of negative splits as well πŸ‘πŸ˜¬

Hi Ian,

Many thanks. Oh I was so excited when I saw the negative splits I must say I did think of you πŸ˜† and your splits ! I am still impressed that I know what splits are!!!

Oh no I have not heard of that, are they a different type of laces or is that the way you lace up your trainers?

Thank you for educating me on running matters!!

They are not different laces , it's just a method of lacing that uses that very top hole in your Running shoes 😁

So lovely to hear through your words how happy and proud and motivated you are. Remember though that YOU deserve it because you go out, do the hard yards and are consistent. You should feel so chuffed πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Congratulations on reaching 7k. That's a cracking pace too There's no way I could run that fast - my 7k on the Magic Plan took me just over an hour!

You will definitely get to 10k - for sure.

You probably don't want to pull your laces too tight across the bridge of your foot though.

I think Instructor57 is referring to heel lock lacing - it works for me.

If you google it there are loads of different ways you can lace up- depending on where you might need to alleviate pressure or improve fit

Well done on the 7k, you won’t have a problem with 10k at all. In fact if you can keep that average pace up then you could even do a sub 60min 10k which would be outstanding. I’m currently working on my 10k time but still need to find a couple of minutes from somewhere....maybe one day with a strong wind to push me along. Still, it keeps me motivated. Keep Pushing on with the plan!
