Week Five completed💪💪💪💪💪!!!!!. I ran my first early morning run today at 7:24am!! Not that early, I had been awake since 5.30am (so annoying I still wake up early on my day off) Anyway finally got myself out. I will have a coffee before I go out next time (yes I am going to keep trying the early morning runs!!!) as all I kept thinking about whilst running was a lovely hot cup of coffee!!!☕️☕️☕️ Out into the rain and cold I went with my hood up. I decided to start my run sooner rather than walking down to the park as it felt so cold. There was quiet a few runners in the park so felt safe, I saw the man who runs with no top on, he did have his bobble hat on today though! I ran what felt like a steady pace around the park in the rain 🌧 🌧🌧 my time was 22:52 minutes and my splits were 5:39, 5:44, 5:35 & 5:39. I must say, I find the last run of the week really tough, I always seem to feel so tired, not sure if anyone else feels like that. My feet were soaked and my toes were so cold 🥶 🥶🥶 I think I am going to start wearing two pairs of socks in this weather to keep feet warm as noticed the other evening that my feet were cold. I think I need to get some warmer running clothes as feel very cold once I have finished running, although I noticed that other people are wearing shorts. I embarrassingly got caught looking at a fellow runners legs this morning 😆😆😆 (I was actually staring thinking OMG you are brave you must be frozen ) but he gave me a nice smile back!! (Runners are such lovely people!!). So proud to have completed week 5 and motivated to start week 6........9k!!! OMG getting so close now. I plan to do one early morning run a week, I think when I do the 5k in the middle.

Hope you have a week filled with happy Running 🏃🏻‍♀️💪🐻🐻🐻

Brilliant run so early on a dark winter morning. Layers are definitely the answer to keep warm. Have a look also at these exercises to do at home before and after your run rather than getting chilly with walks, this is how I manage to run in shorts and T-shirt with snow/ice on the ground, oh and lovely menopause but you’re a long way off that 🤣nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h...

Wow I am so impressed that you wear shorts and T-shirt in this weather ❄️❄️❄️.

Fabulous!I felt quite ill last week after my long run...partly I think down to the cold.

I’m now warming up in the house, driving to my route, then a few more quick stretches before my brisk walk warm up. I’m then driving back and doing the cool down stretches in the house.

I picked up a long sleeved cycling jersey In Lidl a few weeks ago, which I’m now wearing over my running top. I’ve still got my fleece on top, which ends up around my waist after 1-2k...but goes straight back on once I’m back to the cool down walking. My legs and feet are fine...I’m saving the tights for sub zero temps 😂❄️

Thank you LottieMW

Oh bless you, sorry to hear that, it is so much harder running in the colder weather hope you feel better now.

I am going to wear an extra layer and make sure I do warm up exercises (which I have not been doing).

Take care

Thank you so much Ian.

I must say I am really enjoying it, although I am feeling more tired now that I am back working long days, plus the cold weather. Will have to slow down and pace myself better moving onto 9K (could never imagined I would be saying that let alone running such distances when I started C25K!!).

I know really strange, especially in this weather!!

Take care and have a good week

Your pace is absolutely amazing! Did my final W5 run this morning, but definitely not pre 8am! I really don't know how you do that! But ran 8+k due to a mix up on my NRC app. Ready for W6, and feeling good. See you on the other side :)

That is amazing 58soon, really impressed that you can do the longer run at the end of the week and ran 8k+ you will smash week 6!!!

Lol that was my first early morning run I could not do a long run at that time at this stage but going to keep trying to get into the early morning running.

Take care and have a fantastic week 6.

Happy Running
