Iโ€™m actually just so glad to get my mojo back after a couple of weeks languishing in an ever decreasing inclination to get out for my runs .

On Friday I had a brilliant 5K and was as bright as a button all day . Today I decided I needed a plan to move me forward a bit . Iโ€™d done 12 consolidation runs of 30 /38 mins and was maybe getting in a rut .

So whilst reading this forum in bed with my morning coffee and looking out onto a beautiful sky I decided that was it and out I went .

Even as I started the run I wasnโ€™t sure which plan I actually intended running ๐Ÿค”, 2.5 distance or 15 mins time ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Sort of settled on 2.5 K even though in the back of my mind the time plan seemed more suited to how my C25K panned out.

I definitely ran too fast (for me anyway) for the first 1K and was very conscious of my pace being โ€˜all over the shopโ€™ . That didnโ€™t make me confident to do a 5 then 5.5 K later in the week , Iโ€™d be all puffed out at that pace.

Then thought well if I just pulled back on those ones maybe I could ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Or maybe just change my mind and increase my times on the time plan even though I feel Iโ€™m a bit fed up running 30 min runs .

Very muddled thinking I know ...... still Iโ€™ve done my run and have been as chirpy as a budgie all day ๐Ÿ˜‚ very happy too that Iโ€™ve committed to B210K

This running malarkey is good for the mood and Iโ€™ve still got two days to decide which plan am I actually doing ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thanks for all the encouragement this morning ๐Ÿ™

Well done! ๐Ÿ‘

My take is that Iโ€™m using the short run for speed work, the long run for a slow work out...Iโ€™ve read to death all the posts about how serious runners do most of their training at a slow pace ๐Ÿค“

...and to be honest, I found the 39 minute jog (covered 4km at 9:41/km pace) easier on my knees than the 15 minute speed (2.12km at 8:23/km pace).

My understanding on reading posts about The Plan is that itโ€™s up to you, but if (like me) your 30 minute graduation runs are well short of 5k, you may be better off doing the timed programme ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

...anyway...Yay for mojo...go us! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸŒ๐Ÿข๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ

I suspect youโ€™re right about the time plan , itโ€™s worked well for me so far .

The idea of running more Kโ€™s is appealing but only if you can actually do them ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ and they fairly rack up each week on the distance plan.

I think I was just getting a bit fed up doing 30 mins every time but those runs have served me well .

I think Iโ€™ll go for the time plan and set some โ€˜looseโ€™ targets within it .

Maybe get my 5k into the 35 min ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ ( currently 38/39 )

Iโ€™m just glad To be getting out of my little rut and feeling more โ€˜on a missionโ€™ again ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

My 5km are still counting in the warm up/cool down walks ๐Ÿ˜‚ ...so it means Iโ€™m now achieving it on my long runs (44mins this week) Hopefully I will actually *run* it next week with 50 minutes ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

Of course once you have done the Timed plan...you can start again with the distance ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m sure you will Lottie ๐Ÿ‘ your progress has been steady and well planned .

I need to get back to slow and steady , it kinda works ( for me anyway)

Well done for getting out there! Why not start with the timed programme and then switch to the distance when you get to 60 mins. That way you get the boost of 2 achievements (and 2 new badges on here!). Good luck!

I think youโ€™re right actually and I think Iโ€™m settling not carrying on with extending time.

Itโ€™s worked for C25K and also for consolidation as I am covering a bi5 more distance in the 30 to 35 mins .

I think Iโ€™m being seduced with the possibilities of running 6,7 8K but actually I might find I canโ€™t step up at that rate .๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thanks for your reply ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™

Well done ! I am thinking of starting a plan, even if it is too hot out here I can use the treadmill at the gym, although I do prefer outside running.

Keep it up, you are doing amazing ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thanks and good for you ๐Ÿ‘Œ it seems to be ridiculous to say it but it is a shame youโ€™re โ€˜stuck in Barbadosโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Canโ€™t be easy adapting your runs in the heat and on the treadmill ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Never mind only a few more weeks and youโ€™ll be back to the โ˜”๏ธ๐Ÿฅถ๐Ÿ’จ๐ŸŒฌ๐ŸŒจ
