I hope youโre enjoying running through the storms ๐. It was another rescheduled run for me today ๐ฅด. My long run/walk/run of 6 miles was just not going to happen yesterday ๐ด. I was exhausted after a week of long hours and I did not see much of the outdoors in daylight. I did manage to fit in one of my drill workouts, but I didnโt make the two in my Jeff Galloway ๐ & Sgt Major Garmin ๐โโ๏ธprogramme. So today, I could have opted to do the shorter drills I missed instead ๐คซ and it was very tempting, given the weather, โ โ๏ธ ๐ง, but so glad I didnโt. ๐ค
I got soaked to the bone out there today ๐ฎ. I looked at Sgt Major Garmin after the rain came down so heavy, it was slapping me right in the face ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ. I was thinking I must be close to finishing now โmateโ...๐..๐โโ๏ธ, but he didnโt give me the nod I wanted ๐โโ๏ธ...๐คจ...so I had to dig a little deeper, pull my hood up and tie it and carry on ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ. After a mini sulk ๐คญ, I realised something while I was out there; whilst itโs very true that work is getting in the way of my running schedules, Iโm proud of the work I do to help others. And...if I have to re-adjust a little, itโs a sacrifice worth making to do the work I love ๐ฅฐ.
I have covered almost 381 miles in LEJOG ๐ฌ๐ง now, so have under 500 to go! Another reason to smile! ๐
Sgt Major Garmin & Jeff Galloway dug right in with me today and we made it ๐โโ๏ธ..๐..๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ..๐๐ฝ! I am having the best of both worlds. Albeit a very wet world for me today! ๐คฃ Somethings are worth a little discomfort! ๐ Home ๐ก a hot shower๐ฟ and all is well! ๐
Happy running Runners! Run on! ๐ฆพโค๏ธ

Thanks so much Cheeky!! ๐ค Well done to you Cheeky! Must be a great feeling to be back on the run!! ๐
It was just after 7 when I started off and weโre fairly close by. Perhaps I should have checked if it was going to let up later really ๐, but I didnโt want to risk a โleave it untilโ later today. Itโs an all weatherโs mission that I need and if I can do it, winter might just get slayed! โ๏ธ...๐๐๐โค๏ธ
Well done Fabulous450, youโre doing so well!๐๐ Sounds like youโre having a bit of a tough time balancing running and work, so just do what you can.
A running friend pointed me towards the โLucky 13thโ challenge on Garmin - run 13 miles between Friday 13th and today. Iโd already run 6K on Friday morning so I joined the challenge. The forecast for today wasnโt good so I went out again for a 5.5K run on Friday afternoon after work. That just left a 10K for yesterday morning along the seafront in Bognor๐โโ๏ธ๐๐
As usual, the forecast wasnโt accurate and itโs fine down here today!๐คฃ๐
As for LEJOG, Iโve run 330 miles so far so Iโm not too far behind you๐
Wooh hoo David_G!! ๐คฉ๐คฉ Well done you!! You do know Iโm counting steps too I hope, so maybe on a run only basis, your ahead really. ๐ I wasnโt at all convinced it was doable at all when I started, so I needed every bit of help! ๐
Iโm so glad itโs working out well so far!!The main thing for me is to carry on running through winter this year. If I can do that, Iโll get a 12 month running streak award in my NRC app for the first time!! That...Iโd really love to have!! ๐คฉ๐คฉโค๏ธ
Thanks so much WillowandSola!! ๐ค I think we should always allow a little sulk, to acknowledge the feeling...right before we let it go!! ๐๐โค๏ธ
Way to dig deep Fab! It is tough when work interferes with our running doesnโt it but Iโm glad you are doing something you enjoy. Great job getting out in those rains!
Thanks so much Sask!! ๐ค I figure if I take on all weathers, instead of my usual rule it out, I can see how it goes. So far, itโs not been as horrendous as I certainly imagined! ๐๐! โค๏ธ
Go you Fab450! Itโs not easy doing long hours at this time of year - I thought it was tough when commuting and Iโd leave home at 6am in the dark and get home in the dark at 7pm. When spring came I had to put the shades on as I wasnโt used to the daylight! I canโt imagine what it must be like to be doing such long hours at home! But Iโm glad Sgt Maj Garmin is still looking after you - youโre eating up those miles now! Happy running!
Thanks so much Oldgirlruns!! ๐ค Yes, homeworking sounds like a dream, but in reality, I do miss my walks during my commute and equally you know you have to leave at some point to go home. Well neither applies now! ๐ But...I have created my own very short walk to work and home. I have just shamedly remembered that I had a job many years ago which was only about 15 minutes walk and I used to drive there! ๐ณ...Older and wiser now of course. ๐โค๏ธ
These are the runs that stretch us. In that 'stretch' is where we learn, where we grow and where we evolve. You are evolving and it's brilliant. Take a moment...go on. Think back to see if you'd have ran this a few months ago?
The here and now is all we really have and yours looks pretty good ๐
Thanks so much GTFC!! ๐ค Would I have got up seen the dark skies and torrential rain and gone to the park to run a few months ago? ...๐ ....absolutely NOT!! ๐ And although thereโs quite a bit of Jeffing, I wasnโt running anywhere near these distances either. โบ๏ธ
Youโre right, I agree; this moment is all we ever have. ๐๐คโค๏ธ
Thanks so much BTP!! ๐ค Me neither ๐, Iโm trying not to let it stop me this year. Iโd like to get to my very first 12 month running streak! ๐โค๏ธ
Good to see you're still running fabby, glad you had a good one. I'm back on the wagon, just on week 8 of C25k, managed to get out earlier but the weather and tech problems werent helping so crashed out early.
Hey Jundal!! ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ So great to see you VRB!! Thatโs such great news too. Ups and downs for me too Jundal. Sometimes we may have to pause, but the main thing is we come back! ๐ Well...I know youโll be amazing as always!! Keep us posted and keep on posting!! Happy running VRB!! ๐คฉ๐คฉโค๏ธ
Oh well done. The road section actually looks beautiful with reddish leaves! And so well done! You're in the North! ๐๐ฝ๐ (Always am amazed how long the UK is and what we call the North! ๐คฃ)
Thanks so much CBDB!! ๐ค Yes, I was trying to embrace the environment. That was when it was lighter rain and before it started trying to kick my butt ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ ๐ฅ ๐ง! Nevertheless...somehow I made it. ๐
Yes, Iโm in the Northern section now ๐ฌ๐ง๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ!! ...๐๐!! How are you doing CBDB? Youโve certainly been active with all your workouts. Amazing!! ๐คฉ๐คฉ๐คโค๏ธ
Yes, I somehow have made running my hobby, not sure how, but big credits go to this online community.๐
In my spare time, I canโt help and plan my next runs or workouts, or even foam roller sessions. ๐
Nowadays I read all things running, and my husbandโs running books (and some pieces of gear) have somehow migrated over to MY corner of the room! ๐คฃ ๐
Iโm still a beginner runner ๐ฃ but learning in this forum all sorts of things to do with running, from knees, workouts, gear, apps, strategies....itโs such a rewarding journey.
Fantastic CBDB!! ๐คฉ๐คฉ! Youโre an absolute star!! I consider myself a beginner too. ๐
You do lots of exciting stuff...although, lovely as you make the wonderful foam roller sound...I really canโt get myself to want to try that one again...๐ฅด...๐๐! โค๏ธ
Yes. When my husband does the roller sessions itโs obviously much more painful for him than for me. Not sure what the difference is, maybe too much human padding. ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Hope youโre doing ok out there in the storms and rain and wind. Havenโt seen a post in the last 2 weeks so was thinking if you. ๐๐ฝ๐ช๐ง๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Ah thanks so much Fionamags!! ๐ค My wettest run ever, but it does feel like an achievement. At least there was no thunder! I would definitely have drawn the line and headed right back home. ๐ก..โ๐ฝ ..๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ ๐๐โค๏ธ
