πŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ Well! I’m back to running!!! (πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜„πŸ˜€πŸ˜)

πŸ“±And... my Freetrain V1 vest had arrived!!! (πŸ˜πŸ€©πŸ˜ŠπŸ™‚)

πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ After my 5 day focus on my knees (posts are over on the Strength & Flex Forum), I thought this Saturday morning is the time to try out my knees with a gentle run. Luckily my knee pain (small pain, nothing serious but as oldies, we gotta take care) started in my first week of JuJu’s Plan, so restarting with the first 2.5km run gave me that short enough distance for a first run after β€œun-run” 5 days.

🧐 And I was looking forward to test-driving my new phone-holding vest! When my V1 vest had arrived, I initially had doubts if it was a good expenditure, the pocket was smaller than I had thought, and although my phone fits, it only fits if I take it out of its protective cover. And even then, because of the touch sensitive plastic window, it’s actually not ultra-easy to take the phone out to take pics, and of course without cover, I’m ultra conscious of its break-ability.

🧒 But once all clothed, with iPhone , earbuds, vest and cap I went out, and within seconds my music playlist stopped. I had, as so many times before, forgotten to switch from WIFI to mobile. So rather than annoyingly fiddling with my belt pocket, I could whilst walking, simply access my iPhone through the see-through pocket window! Easy! I even took a photo (trees) inside the pocket, not perfect, but fun.

πŸ‘£After my 5min warm-up walk, I started running and immediately stopped listening to the slight pain in my left knee. Left! I thought, wrong leg? I walked a few minutes more giving my knee a few more minutes to warm up and then very gently morphed into a slow run. And as the knee held up and the pain did not reappear I slowly sped up to my usual (still ultra-slow) joggle and could slot into the music’s beats.

🌲 🌳 A very enjoyable run. I was quite tentative with my knees, even slower than usual as (even a walker passed me), but so enjoyable! The music, the trees, the rhythmic thuds of the balls of my feet connecting with the earthy path. I was more out of breath than usual, so my fitness didn’t hold up. But my knees were fine, my legs, back and calves as well. And 2.5km, day 1 of JuJu’s Magic plan was quickly run!

🀳🏻My vest is great. The most brilliant thing is how easy it is to get access to the phone. It could be even more perfect (slightly bigger), but it’s the best phone holding item I know of, so I am chuffed.

πŸ§ŽπŸΌβ€β™€οΈAnd once the day came to an end, I even returned to my livingroom workout corner to do a roller session, and then a short Pilates knee workout.

πŸ’ƒπŸ½A very happy Saturday!

πŸ§–β€β™€οΈHave a wonderful running weekend everyone!

Well done on getting back to it it was a short break and sometimes we kneed those (okay maybe that was funnier in my head).

Hi CBDB that sounds like a great run! πŸ™‚ Thanks for the info on the Free Train, I’ve had my eye on one of those for some time so it seems like a worthwhile investment! I’ll get one and see how I get on with itπŸ‘

Hi CBDB I promised I'd report back on my Free Train experience, and here I am! I ran for the first time using it this morning and I'm very impressed with it! There's plenty of room for my phone (iPhone5 SE), keys and gel. It was very comfortable and I soon forgot I was wearing it. It's great that you can use your phone through the plastic in the pouch, it makes it much easier to switch between apps, turn things on and off etc. I also bought the optional LED lights that clip onto the straps but I didn't need them this morning.Overall I'm more than happy with my purchase - it looks sturdy and well made and I'm impressed with the design. I know from their Facebook group that some people have asked about optional pouches that could fit on the straps, for water bottles and things. Apparently they're thinking about this so I'll keep an eye on their website as it's something I'd be interested in.

I haven't used the card pouch as I'm wary of the phone affecting the magnetic strip etc on my bank card. I don't want to be without that at the moment!

Oh wow! I didn’t even see or consider the LED lights. 🚨But probably not as good for me as I often have me fleece sleeveless hoody (which is very loose with front zip) on top of the V1.

Yes, I’m impressed too, it really feels like a quality product. I think Fabulous450 called it β€œjazzy”. πŸŽ·πŸ€—πŸ‘

And wouldn’t it be great to have some water bottle pouches! πŸ’¦

Nice one! πŸ‘πŸ½ thanks for posting and great to have a V1 buddy! I was in awe of the bag alone!

Sounds like your vest is a great investment πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

I love your run description especially "rhythmic thuds of the balls of my feet connecting with the earthy path" . I know how worrying and frustrating these niggling pains can be , I'm glad you able to get back out there 😊

Yes, worst nightmare for a runner is knee niggles. So I did take baby steps! 🐣 But all seems ok πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ! Thanks πŸ™!
