Blown away!

My first long run in wind and rain, what an experience! but I did sort of enjoy it. I was awake so early and thought I might as well get it over with😀I ran 16k last weekend in much better weather conditions so didnt have high hopes of achieving that. I set off with 5k in mind and then see how I feel. The wind was quite light,fine rain, not too bad😒turned left to run along promenade and whoosh!😂cap flew off, had to chase it and carry it. Wind behind me now interfering with my pace,pushing me faster than I want to go, now at 8k so may as well carry on to 10k. Follow my route turn around to make my way back,WHAM!wind and rain full pelt in my face pushing me back, boy did I have to work harder than ever, so after about 2minutes turned sharp right off the main road where the wind was not quite so fierce. Now at 11k and feeling ok, carry on back home , rain has eased to a fine drizzle, wind behind me and I dont mind it pushing me along now😂feeling tired but determined to run all the way, slower pace now but made it 14k complete(still a bit disappointed didnt make 16k😂)Hot shower followed by porridge, coffee.Suns out now🌞 lazy day ahead zzzzzzz

I was cringing with you at the wind & rain in your face bit & positively relieved that you turned off to find better shelter! All that being blown along though - great!😄
