Going to get myself busted for trespassing one of these days

Set off this morning aiming for 9k. Glorious morning, first time with no rain in ages, or feels like. I plotted a route thinking I would go 4.5k and then run home but ran out of pavement again and found myself on country roads where people drive waaay too fast. Ducked down a footpath and found the most gorgeous forest. Was feeling pretty chuffed at such a lovely place to run but when I emerged the other side there was a sign saying: propriété privée, entrée interdite! Ugh. I keep doing this. Surprised I haven't been chased by an angry farmer yet!! Plus my diversion meant I got home after only 8k. Think for my 10k I'm going to go for a boring road run just to make sure I make the distance and stay the right side of the rules!

8k in just under 1hr AND managed to keep HR down so still a success and on the right track. (Figuratively, not literally 🤣)

Oh I like a bit of trespassing! Sounds exciting! Hope you don't have to outrun any officials. Sorry, I'll stop being subversive now! 😂

Nah, you'll be OK, just use French legal logic : C'était un panneau "Entrée interdite" pas "Sortie interdite" !

I do try to check whether there are hunters about though when I pick my routes...

My experience of running on France's country lanes is that they're even more dangerous than in the UK. Even the bikes go faster and give you less room.

On the plus side the farmers were ok if I didn't go through fields with livestock and respected the crops.

Yes! I'm actually in Switzerland (Geneva, French speaking and right on the border with France) where they are extremely keen on sticking to the rules! On the plus side they are not likely to chase me with a gun 😉
