Well, I’ve started! I have this morning done WK1R1 of Ju Ju’s plan. I’ve chosen the timed route through it. This morning I ran for 15 minutes. I’ve been running 45 minute 5k runs during consolidation. I thought I’d try to tun a bit faster given the shorter time. The sheep that I passed seemed surprised, I gave my usual ‘meeehhrrr’ but I was gone in an instant! Further on, the horse with big teeth almost choked on its hay as I rushed by! At the end I’d run 1.77k, I’d been trying for 2k. But just as I found C25K a wizard plan, I’m sure Ju Ju has her magic wand in hand ready to propel this older lump towards the 10k finish line. Now.....should that ever happen, I shall eat my socks! Gonna be a fun journey though...

Get the gravy ready for the socks!!

This plan is great and you absolutely 💯 will get there as long as you are consistent and give yourself the best chance. Lots of fluids and stretching/strengthening and you will do it. Consistency is everything. We'll all be here to support you!

Thank you GTFC, I’m actually excited about eating my socks now the gravy option has been added! Wonder if a couple of roast spuds might be an additional side dish too!!

Took me ages to get to 10k but it's now my favourite distance. I've never run in my life so it constantly astounds me. Good luck

I’m looking forward to achieving something that just a few months ago never seemed possible. In life, isn’t it nice to still think that from time to time, good things can still happen!

Yay! Go 030961! 💪 You definitely did run a bit faster than the pace you said yesterday! (45mins- 5K - Ave. Pace = 9mins. 15mins - 1.77K - Ave. Pace = 8.47 .... ish 🤔 🤷‍♂️ 🤭). We’re with you every step of the way on your new journey! ✊

Thanks PhoenixRise, I can’t tell you how excited I am about trying to get there. Two years ago the Big C meant I couldn’t for five months leave a hospital bed for a wee, so to get to 10k would be something I’d be so delighted to achieve. To have the support of you and this incredible community is wonderful.
