Mymojo and I have been inhabiting various different lands this week. The first is the "Land of Procrastination" as I have been lacking motivation to run since my last run on Sunday. It really is not good enough.
The other land is "No Man's Land" as I feel a little rudderless after completing my 10k just over a week ago. This happened to me after completing C25k, so I know I need to look for something to aim for.
Although I have enjoyed lovely long dog walks, they are not runs and I really needed to sort myself out. After giving myself a talking to I have now made a pledge to run 5ks on a Saturday so that I can start posting on damienair's vitual 5k post. With that sorted I got my act together and headed out this afternoon whilst Mr D-d and son were watching the rugby and daughter was on another virtual open day for one of her university choices (she's making the best of the situation, but it's such as shame).
Well, 5k done this afternoon in far prettier surroundings than the M5 where my virtual self is currently cruising along just outside of Avonmouth, having just passed the Bone Caves - should have saved that for Halloween 🎃. The woodland trails I run are resplendent in their autumn colours and always full of surprises - today's was a silent fire engine with lights flashing and then a group of firefighters emerging from the trees near the ponds....... They were all happy and chatty, so I don't know what they were doing, but it can't have been serious - interesting though!
I just about managed to get Cantsoimgonna and myself on the same stretch of map in the photo - not for long though, as she's streaking along after her fabulous 10k today. She will be off and over that Severn Bridge before we know it.
Happy running folks.

The hallowed ground of the 10k pastures will always be there DD 👍
Funny you're a bit off the boil as well - i haven't run this week either as I've been feeling just slightly off. Will need to follow your example and get out there tomorrow - JoG beckons!!! Well done you for cracking on with it.
I really did have to sort myself out today. I have never been a whole week without running unless I was on the IC, and that was looming on the horizon if I didn't get my act together. Hope you feel better soon and are back out there tomorrow xx
Fantastic Delly-dot!! 🤗 Good for you for pushing through the Lands and getting to Bones Cave too. You’ll be long gone by Halloween. 🦾😁😁
My son has to do some virtual Uni open days soon too 🤔, so I can relate. ❤️
I love your pic collages Delly and this lovely post and I like your idea of inhabiting different lands, ....hope you find pastures new soon and more Lands to which you want to travel. Those bone caves look interesting, I’ll check that out on my way past, I might just get there in time for Halloween 👻. 🤗
Oh it's good news that your mojo is back and that you have a plan - sounds a good idea to do the not park run each week.
It is a shame for young people to have such uncertainty. I work at a University (or at the moment for a University as I'm at home) 😂 so do understand the challenges. Hopefully we will have this sorted by the time your daughter goes.
You're still enjoying the LeJog too, so all good! Take care
Mr D-d’s redundancy was confirmed this week and it’s messed with my head more than I thought. Anyway, onwards and upwards. New things on the horizon 😊.
Well done to you and Mymojo D-d, glad you were able to get out eventually! Probably best not to ask why the firefighters were in the woods - but I’m sure it was all above board😳 ! Hope you manage to get off the motorway soon- it’s definitely not the place to be running safely!
What beautiful photos Delly-dot and a great place to go running. I'm glad you talked yourself into going out and hope you feel a bit better for it. 🤗🏃♀️
Just come off the IC so have that weird wariness about running...bit of mojo-nojo going on as well. Sorry to hear about Mr D-D and can imagine that is draining too. Lovely pics and can see you are 100 miles ahead of me on Lejog. Fantastic progress so that’s a quiver in your bow for sure. At this rate you will have finished by March.
So much has happened in the last 12 months it is actually quite hard to process, at least the running stays the same. Happy running and throwing in some virtual hugs for good measure! 🤗
I love this so very much! I always check out fellow lejog5 runners too. Stuff all those already in Scotland this is where the cool kids are!
So my 10k did pop me over the river, maybe you are already there too - I've not checked today as I'm giving myself a day to laze around the house! I fully suspect my mojo will be hanging with yours in procrastination land in the coming week. Like you I suffered a lack of motivation after c25k so now I have my 10k badge it could be the same. My body is also telling me it isn't quite ready for the strain. My toes and feet need a bit of tlc i think. Have a lovely weekend Delly-Dot.
