I decided to make the most of the weather, and the official last day of summer, to go out and do the 4k run of Week 6. I wasn't aiming for anything in particular other than keeping moving, especially after last Tuesday's struggle, set off on the rough terrain to get into the groove (as 'twere) before hitting the tarmac (not literally).
A few more people out tonight than are usually about of a morning, but not crowded- everyone must have been having their dinner!- not too many doggies, cyclists or 3 abreast walkers to dodge thankfully, so a fairly sedate evening.
First km was 6.42, I didn't consciously speed up, but realised I was doing when the half kilometre times started to go down... when the 3rd km came in at just over 6 minutes, and I was feeling reasonably ok, well, why not... pressed on, strode out, and... PRs for kilometre and half mile! Chuffed doesn't begin to describe it. Onwards and upwards, planning the 5k run for Wednesday, so let's hope the weather holds out... 10k here I come
