It's SO GOOD to be back out there! I had a skin cancer removed from my scalp 2 weeks ago and just got the sutures out yesterday. Wasn't allowed to run until the sutures were out. So off I went this morning and it was glorious! We've had a cool front here in Texas and the weather was only 61F (16C) which is MUCH cooler than I've ever run before! I'm used to running at 86-90F (30-32C) which is really miserable but unavoidable here. So I was loving the cool weather!
Unfortunately after about 4k I was looking down a cross street trying to decide on my route and I rolled my ankle from stepping half on/half off a curb. Ouch! Down I went! But the good news is I have a bad left ankle, REALLY bad, I've had xrays, MRIs, physical therapy etc, and luckily this was my right ankle! A turn of the left one would've put me out of business for a long time. Also, because of the cool weather for the first time EVER I had on some longer tights that went just past my knees instead of shorts, so I ended up with just a tiny little scrape on my knee. And the fall wasn't really that bad, the ankle didn't really hurt after maybe 2 minutes, I was able to get up almost immediately and walk (no more running though), so it's all good.
