Hi everyone

I have had to stop running a couple of weeks ago as I have a painful lump on my Achilles tendon. Do these go away or do I need to see the doctor about it?

It needs rest. If it’s been a couple of weeks I’d be inclined to get it looked at.

I think it would be worth seeing a Physio - you definately need to go carefully with an Achilles injury. A good Sports Physio will give you a proper diagnosis and be able to set you up on a rehab program to help you recover. Fingers crossed it doesn't keep you out for long and many healing vibes coming your way.🤞

I had achilles tendinopathy a couple of years back, brought on by badly fitting work boots. It was so painful. My advice would be seek help if it doesn't clear up in a week or so. I ended up needing physio but I did leave it quite a while before getting help. One tip the physio told me to was gently massage along the tendon to start with.

Good luckx

Thanks for your tips, everyone! As luck would have it I thought the ankle was better today, but then I ran for the bus - ouch! If it is still bad next week, I will contact the doctor about it (before the next wave of coronavirus hits).
