I've just done the 3rd run of week 1 and I'm thoroughly pleased with myself! No great PBs, no great stats, but 3 good runs achieved. I'm doing the plan by distance, and here's my summary of how the week's gone.
Fri evening - R1 - 2.5k - Av pace 6:37/km
Possibly the first time I've (intentionally!) done such a short run and it was really liberating to just run and not have too many concerns about keeping enough energy for a much longer run. I decided not to do intervals on this one, but just to relax and run.
Sun morning - R3 - 5.5k - Av pace 6:51/km
When I set out I wasn't sure if this was going to be my 5k or 5.5k, but once I got going, it felt like a really comfortable run and I was loving it. Managed to get to a 5.5k without feeling like I was going to collapse - could I possibly have gone on longer? Maybe!
Weds lunchtime - R2 - 5k - Av pace 6:44/km
A niggly ankle was playing on my mind but it settled pretty quickly and again, I got into a nice rhythm with this one. The last 0.5k were definitely felt, but got to the end without any dramas.
So a successful week in my eyes, and now for a few days of rest before moving to week 2.
