I’ll be back!

Well finally went to see physio and it seems my incident with the big dog has caused my problems. He found a haematoma deep in my glute muscle. Good news is it is not age or arthritis but something that can be dealt with. He says 2 weeks with no impact exercise, some specific exercises, attend a Pilates class and no reason why I can’t be back running by the end of the month. Wish I had gone for treatment sooner but will hopefully be back soon!

You'll be back with renewed determination and motivation! Good luck with the exercises - keep updating us.

Hi Phdgranny, so pleased to see your post today and that you now have some help to get you going again. It will be so lovely to have you back on the bridge, I am half way over but am running slow at the moment so I’m sure to see you there. I’m doing the time plan first and then going back to the beginning to do the distance one. So get those exercises done and I’ll be waiting for you 😉 🤗

Thank you MrsJ! I began to think I was just finding excuses so having an actual plan is great. I think I will keep up the Pilates as not very disciplined about stretch and strength! Hope you are doing OK x

I’m good thanks, had some ups and downs with the running but definitely want to keep going. Like you Im not very disciplined with exercises except when niggles threaten to disrupt my plans! A regular Pilates will help a lot though, I’ve lost my regular yoga class due to LD but trying to get my mat out more often. Once Ive laid my mat out it’s great 🤗

Good news! I was wondering how you were getting on. Pesky glutes, a few if us have had glute- related problems, but with the proper advice and following the exercises, you will indeed be back! Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Very sensible plan, glad your physio got to the ‘bottom’ of it. You’ll be back stronger in a few weeks.
