Strava updates?

Hi all, I signed up for the Strava 10k & 5k challenges for September, and did a 10 (11.6)k today. My question is: do I need to enter this manually to complete the challenge, or does Strava do it automatically at the end of the month? If I need to do it manually, I don't see any obvious way to do so. My Strava settings are private. TIA as usual 👍🏻👋

I also did a 10k today and had entered the Strava September 10 k challenge, my page shows the same as yours no mention of the challenge but if I try and accept the challenge again , it says I have completed it

Dammit - just noticed it autocorrected to Strata 🙄. Thanks - it looks as if I'm part of the challenge, because there's an option to leave it. Doesn't say anything about me having completed it though. I'll have another look later.

P.s. I just realised that I needed to change the privacy settings to Everyone from Only Me (not sure I'm comfortable about that, but c'est la vie). Now it reads as Completed. Thanks!

Ahh ok 👍

As you discovered this was down to the privacy settings. In the settings on your profile you can also set a radius around home/work/regular car parking spots that won’t show on your maps.

Oh that's good, I'll have a look at that - thanks.

It’s automatic. It should show up in your Strava feed.

Sorted - thanks!

Yes it’s automatic but not always immediate. With regard to privacy settings you need to read the small print for each challenge: some allow ‘only me’ activities and some don’t. Similarly some allow manually entered activities and some only accept GPS. Some go by elapsed time and others by moving time. Each challenge has its own rules which you can read by clicking the ‘details’ button.

Yeah, I see it now , thanks. (Not sure I'm comfortable with the whole public settings thing though).

You don’t need to make it public though - you know you completed the challenge and if you don’t want that to be public who else matters?
