Strava is driving me nuts. It's recording my runs inaccurately and sometimes continues to record activity even when I've finished and uploaded the run! I'm looking for a reliable alternative but one that I can easily sync the activity to Strava as a lot of my friends use Strava so I'd like to continue using it (but using another app that is more reliable to record my runs!)

Thanks V, I'm trying to avoid having to use a watch as I take my phone out anyway to listen to music. Just looking for a reliable run tracker at this point.
I would have recommended MapMyRun but now I’m running further and using my Garmin, I realise how inaccurate it can be. Twice recently I ran them alongside each other just out of curiosity, and both times t literally left off a whole km of a long run (not even in the same place) and was giving me overly favourable stats. Without Garmin I’d have been clueless.
So ok (probably) for shorter runs, not so much for longer ones. Sorry, not terribly helpful I know. 🙄
The only way to accurately record your runs is via a GPS watch. You don’t need to spend a fortune. You can buy a Garmin Forerunner 15 on eBay for £20 second hand. They are available as male and female models. You can sync to Garmin connect after your run and the data will upload onto Strava.
Garmin Forerunner 35 is a really nice watch, £100 new or £70 on eBay. I had a Garmin forerunner 15 for 2 years, it works great. I use a watch and I also take my phone with me to listen to music. Sometimes I enjoy running without music and with a watch you can leave the phone at home.
Thanks for all your replies. The more I look into it the more it seems I need to get a watch. I'll carry on using Strava on my phone for now so at least it records the time each run takes, I'll just ignore the rest of the inaccurate data and will look into getting a decent GPS watch 👍
Just remember you don’t need to spend a fortune. The Garmin 35 is as good as it gets for our level of running and available online for £100. Garmin 10 or 15 available second hand on eBay for £20.
Well I've bitten the bullet and bought myself a brand new Garmin Forerunner 35. I've set it up and synced to Strava so looking good so far. I wasn't planning on running now until Monday but might squeeze a little run round the block to test it out beforehand. Thanks for your advice everyone.
Thanks limberlou, I've bought a Forerunner 35. I've given it a test walk around the block and although it wasn't quite 100% accurate it's much better than my Android has been over the last few weeks.
