Some people have recently posted that their run recorders have deemed their efforts “unproductive”.

Well, today I kept hearing my phone call out “autopause on”. All I could do was mutter: I haven’t paused, it’s just very, very steep!!

Ha ha. I went onto the settings on my watch just after getting it and turned off all the smart features. I now have a very dim and slightly every so dumb smart watch.

I love it.

Normally I just run with a £10 digital watch but I wanted to check a new run for distance and elevation. In future I’ll just repeat this run with the cheapo, non judgemental watch.

But if auto pause was on, it’ll have missed out some distance and elevation. You need to turn it off.

I felt a little insulted the other day when my cardiologist wrote in his findings that I was UNremarkable, I mean I know this was a good thing, but it does sound kind of rude 🤣

40 years ago I was having a suit made for me at Next. I glanced at the tailor’s notes. It said “portly”. That hurt!! I suppose nowadays it would have to say “laterally challenged”. 🐘

😂 I have developed the dubious skill of celebrating anything positive my Garmin dashboard tells me, whilst simultaneously discounting anything negative (usually the HR zones or HR!). I think this means I don't trust my Garmin, although I love it!🤷‍♀️

If I feel good then the run was good...🙂👍

Looks like a great hill run to me, I did a similar incline this morning, these devices need to know we really are doing our best to get up them and that our best very much is pretty spectacular. Great effort. Happy running 🤗

One of my routes goes along a road where there’s one of those signs that clocks motorists’ speed. It flashes it in green with a smiley face if they’re under 30, and red with a sad face if over. On Sundays it’s a quiet road. It blinking well clocked my speed even though I’m on pavement and gave me a 5 with a green smiley face. I though it was taking the p*** quite honestly!
