A big thank you to all of you for the great advice that is posted on this site. At the end of last year, I embarked on the C25K and soon after found you guys who have been supporting me ever since.
I spent a few weeks in consolidation ( which I found a bit of a wilderness) before starting on the Magic Plan - and all the advice started to really help:
- toxic 10 - learned that was all in the head and still is!
- gait analysis - helped when buying running shoes
- how to avoid injuries through core strengthening with plankety plank
- yoga helps
- what to do when injured to kept fit/motivated( mine was a self inflicted 4 week gap - hot oil spill onto the top of left foot)
- donโt bbq in flip flops when on a running plan ( or ever)
- cadence and stride
- sometimes we need a plan but sometimes we donโt
- running is very addictive
- a Fitbit km is 50m less than a real (Garmin) km.! This was a big shock and hit my competitive inner self hard and I still havenโt managed to get under 30 mins for 5k since thinking I was doing it in 28.30!
- itโs sometimes great to leave the watch at home and just enjoy ๐
- what to do once we get to 10k ( prog for 21K found)
But most of all Iโve learned that we can all do whatever we set out to do as long as we have support - again, thank you all ๐
