Edit: this post was very delayed hence the silly hour!
Really chuffed! I’ve just had a week off running due to a cold but for the month prior I’ve struggled with my running. Most have my runs have felt really tough, my pace has got slower and slower, I felt heavy and disheartened. I had a gentle run/walk on Thursday to ease myself back in and felt really good, so today planned a 9k. I set off on a new route from my daughter’s gym club: on the whole it’s not too pretty and partly alongside the Leeds ring road, but I ran to this lake, round it five times (including a loo stop at McDonalds 🙄) and a slightly longer route back to avoid a really shocking hill. Ended up running 10k, which was a real surprise, especially as it felt good: everything seems to have come together and clicked, including a slight improvement in my pace. I can’t thank you lovely VRBs on this forum enough for your support and encouragement! Very happy bunny today 😊🏃♀️

Thank you! It took me a lot longer than JuJu’s plan but it’s a good plan! I had to pause at half way and consolidate that for a bit and then inch up by .5k at a time
Well done Molly! All your hard work paid off and you deserve a lovely shiny badge to admire! Make sure you request it, then you can spend today basking in your glory! What a superstar you are! ⭐️ 🏃♀️👊👏🎉
Thank you! Not sure where to request one but I’ll have a look through the pinned posts. I only ever use my phone for this forum: I must log on through the website to actually see my badges as I never have!
Well done and congrats Molly! 😊👏 Sorry to hear your runs haven't been going as well, but I'm glad you're feeling better now and hope future runs are more successful for you.
It sounds like a lovely run as well - I can't wait for a 10k that feels good 😅
Great! Thank you for the link! It was a good run: more for how I was feeling than the environment: the photo is the only brief view of the lake: the rest is less pretty! Good luck on your journey 👍
I can sympathise with that Molly - living near Birmingham, there's plenty of less-pleasant places to go running. In my latest run, I had to hop in the car and drive for 10 minutes to find my route, but it was definitely worth it!
I often do that: usually to find the canal. Overall I’m pretty lucky where I am, there are a few nice woods with structured trails I can get to on foot from home 👍
Yaaaayyy Molly!!! 🎉🎆🎖️👏👏 Now that's the way to stage a comeback 😊 I'm so pleased you've found your running mojo, it's a different world when the running feels good.
