Indecision ...!

What a week … having struggled with sleep I wasn't getting out for a morning run and the evenings were just too hot!!

Today I set my alarm for 8am trying to curtail another sleepless night early enough for a morning run. Eventually I rolled out of bed at 9am!! This was going to be a very late morning run.

Indecision set in feeling so tired should I or shouldn't I go out!! I could put it off until Sunday!!!

Fortunately I managed to banish indecision and headed out a bit brighter but much later …. almost 10:30!!

I started off at home with some dynamic exercises to ease myself back out the door. As I walked down the hill towards the local park to reach my now familiar route my knees started to feel heavy! So I kept walking to give more time for them to sort themselves out.

Having not run since last weekend I wanted to make this one count. Another 2*15mins perhaps … I decided to try 2*20 mins with 1k warm up and cool down either side interspersed with 5 min walk rests.

The knees finally seemed to settle down so off I trotted at a very gentle pace.

It's been good setting these mini goals as it helps to focus and stop myself from aborting part way through. The 2nd 20 minutes was particularly tough going but determination and lots of counting helped to get to the desired goal.

I hope for a bit of an easier week on the horizon so I can get a few more miles under my belt! We will see!!

Happy running every one. If anyone is feeling indecisive about heading out for a run … go on ... do it 😃👍!!

Well done for getting out Richard, and showing those gremlins who’s boss.

I’m totally with you on sleepless nights but maybe this cooler weather will help.

I find once I get the running gear on, I’m more likely to get out of the door.
