Misty, muggy 5k

I set out in the mist today thinking it would be nice and cool but it was muggy and humid. Set out on a different section of the cycle path and then ran back along the side of the loch. Was lovely to try a different route.

Not quite a PW but very close to it, but who cares? It was another 5k in the legs. I've only run once this week so I need to get back into more of a routine next week.

Good run for you Fionamags, nice photo of the swans at the side of the loch, I am not sure which loch that is, this morning I ran a 5K around part of Broadwood Loch, near to where I live, that was my 9th (not) parkrun.

It is Castle Semple loch at Lochwinnoch. About 20 miles from Glasgow towards the coast.

My in-laws live at Lochwinnoch! The cycle track is a lovely place to run 😊🏃‍♀️.

Gosh thats a coincidence! Maybe I'll see you on the cycle track one day.

Maybe! They are heading down to visit us next week. What a small world!

Great run Fionamags and you're right still very humid. New routes are one of my favourite running things . Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Love the photo 🏃‍♀️🦢🦢

Exactly, 'another 5k in the legs' is what it's all about.

So lovely to do a new route! It was a 5k - Pw/pb, what does it matter, you needed a run and enjoyed it!

In keeping with the chilled out snail running vibe going on here this week. 😉🐌🐌🐌

Looks lovely!!! I went for a bike ride instead and I agree it’s sooooo muggy!! I think its brilliant you got even close to a PB in this heat!! I was finding it hard to keep a decent speed up on my bike so at about half way I decided to make it a nice easy spin instead- but got home absolutely dripping!!

No wait - you misread it. Its not near a PB it was near a PW - ie a personal worst :)

Good for you getting out on your bike though. YOu must have been lashing!

Good to see you taking time out of a run to enjoy the wildlife! Looks a.lovely run and as you say more miles in the legs. Running now can be as and when you need it after achieving so much. Just enjoy now!! You've earned it ☺️

That's the way I'm feeling just now. I'm happy with where I'm at - no desire to extend - unless I get a lot faster and get a lot closer to the hour for my 10 k. I feel that I need to do a fair bit of consolidating now as I suspect I won't get away with this much longer unless I build more muscle and flexibility. I'm starting to creak ever so slightly (creaky knees and slightly twingey left buttock....) so I think I need to really work on that so I don't end up with an injury. Unlike the rest of the crew, I'm not doing much else apart from my runs so that's the focus now - trying to get into the habit of doing the strength and flex workouts in between runs.

That's commendable!! My 10k goal on hold for now. With the seasons changing and work looming it'll be a case of just seeing how it goes. Running free without a plan might be the best way to go for now👍 whatever you're up to enjoy😉

Same to you. I think a bit of 'freedom' running is just the ticket now. We've come an awful long way, haven't we? Its one of the things that keeps me going - I can't bear the thought of going back to puffing and gasping through one minute runs :) :) :)

Haha hard to imagine those early days but now it's time just to be a runner💪💪

Sounds great Fionamags, PW’s are one of my favourite things now 😄 ....lovely location to run.

The great thing is we don’t need to run any further or faster unless we want to ....just enough to run to catch the post or the train when we’ve left it to the last minute 🤣, a gentle 5k in the legs will definitely help us to do that 😄🤗

Looks lovely Fionamags and sounds like a great relaxed run. I've been gardening this morning and at times it's almost felt chilly! humidity seems to have disappeared with the sun 😊

Still waiting for the sun to properly break through here. The forecast was supposed to be sunny and 20 degrees but its still a tad chilly.

A great run Fionamags 🌟.

The humidity is really high just now - energy sapping - and it seems to make no difference where you are in the country either, it is just as bad everywhere.

Enjoying clocking up your 5ks 😊.
