Opps the ๐ŸŒ wins

So Iโ€™m doing the Magic Plan (distance version) probably should have done the time version. Iโ€™m only on week 4 and did my 8k run and realised I ran for more than 60 minutes not only that but last week my 7k was also over 60 mins. Opps ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Anyway Iโ€™m looking at an hour thirty for a 10k if I donโ€™t get some zipp soon. Not saying itโ€™s not exhausting but I listen to a book and mostly donโ€™t notice the time passing.

Happy running ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Brilliant effort running over 60minutes. Grab your 60 min badge to wear with honour while you work your way to 10k. Happy running ๐Ÿค—

Sounds like a plan ๐Ÿ˜

I think doing the distance version is better. Runs go in distance after all. It doesnโ€™t matter about your pace. Running listening to a book and not noticing the time passing is the perfect way to run ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

Thatโ€™s why I โ€˜levelled upโ€™ to the 5k as soon as I completed the C25k and the 30 minute runs. It makes more sense to my poor little brain. To audiobooks ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅ‚

Well, if youโ€™d done the timed version, youโ€™d have been working out where to drop onto the distance version by now anyway... I say good call. 10k is 10k... if it takes 90 minutes to run it then itโ€™s no less of an achievement... donโ€™t worry about pace, and never focus on it when looking to add distance.

Thank you, Iโ€™m off the couch and thatโ€™s what counts I didnโ€™t dream Iโ€™d be running again in March, so Iโ€™m truly pleased with my progress ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Itโ€™s great to see you not only out there, but back taking down the milestone runs. Youโ€™ll run any distance you want to so long as you have a decent plan... and your comeback and progression proves that.

Wow, ever improving. How amazing is an 8km. Did you ever imagine you'd be able to run for an hour when you started C25k? Well done ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Thank you, I donโ€™t think it crossed my mind I did it and was reading posts here before I realised I had already done that!

That's a really good amount of time to be out there running so well done. If you can reach 10k in 90 minutes then it'll be a real achievement so well done you. You'll be building lots of stamina and experience so keep going. You'll certainly get there ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Very well done on your 60 minute run HappyNoodle, ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฅณ An hour and half sounds brilliant for a first 10k.

I hit the 60mins at the end of week 3 running 7k as well so Iโ€™ve switched to the time plan for now.

Great idea to listen to some books for longer runs, Iโ€™ll have to look at investing in some headphones, ๐Ÿ™

Well done HappyNoodle. I wasn't brave enough to go for the distance plan straight off. I decided to do the timed one first and then the distance after. But you're nearly there!

Iโ€™ll get my daughter doing the timed version first though when she gets to that point

Whoop! Whoop! Congratulations on getting your 60min badge! I thought the distance was the right plan for you.

You are doing great.

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š how are you doing? Iโ€™m going to start S&F again from the beginning as Iโ€™ve been off it for so long with my side. Not completely better but not sure if itโ€™s just stiff now or still strained. I do know Iโ€™ve got a lot to do to get back to where I was. Are you consolidating, I found the heat made me even slower than usual ๐Ÿ™ƒ how is your journey going?

Eightpaws profile image

It's great to have something to rebuild with. I've started mixing in some BHF videos. They have a 10min cardio workout which includes jumping jacks - it felt so alien to my body when I tried jacks a couple of months ago, but had a go last week and could do them, assume down to all the S&F.

I had a week off running (and a bit slack on the exercise) in the heat but have now completed 3 x 5K+SS, 2 x Speed, and 1 x Stamina, with a (not) slow 30min run in the middle. It's so much faster than I would run, but despite the doubts and the peak heart rate I've completed them! I'm now beginning to think about my next move, whether to stick on 3 ie 9 runs or another week after that before moving on to the timed Magic plan. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you are doing AMAZINGLY ๐Ÿคฉ there is a Magic plan group starting in September maybe carry on as you are and join that then youโ€™ll have company and extra consolidation under your belt!

Maybe I'm doing better than I think - Thank you HappyN .

A September start sounds like a good idea. I'll check that out. Happy running , and to MiniN.

Well done HappyNoodle, ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿปyour doing great increasing your distance, Iโ€™m taking a punt at 7k next week. ๐Ÿ‘

How is MiniNoodle getting on?

HappyNoodle profile image
HappyNoodleGraduate10 in reply to Couchphoenix

Thank you. MiniNoodle didnโ€™t want to run in the heat so has had some time off but did W2r2 yesterday and plan is to complete W2 tomorrow. Iโ€™m trying to not make it a chore. Also got us Parkrun wristbands so we can run them together when she gets there, until she gets quicker than me ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ.

Good luck with your 7k at least itโ€™s cooler now that definitely helps. Happy running ๐Ÿ˜
