So Iโm doing the Magic Plan (distance version) probably should have done the time version. Iโm only on week 4 and did my 8k run and realised I ran for more than 60 minutes not only that but last week my 7k was also over 60 mins. Opps ๐
Anyway Iโm looking at an hour thirty for a 10k if I donโt get some zipp soon. Not saying itโs not exhausting but I listen to a book and mostly donโt notice the time passing.

I think doing the distance version is better. Runs go in distance after all. It doesnโt matter about your pace. Running listening to a book and not noticing the time passing is the perfect way to run ๐๐ฝ
Thatโs why I โlevelled upโ to the 5k as soon as I completed the C25k and the 30 minute runs. It makes more sense to my poor little brain. To audiobooks ๐๐ฅ
Well, if youโd done the timed version, youโd have been working out where to drop onto the distance version by now anyway... I say good call. 10k is 10k... if it takes 90 minutes to run it then itโs no less of an achievement... donโt worry about pace, and never focus on it when looking to add distance.
Thank you, Iโm off the couch and thatโs what counts I didnโt dream Iโd be running again in March, so Iโm truly pleased with my progress ๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Itโs great to see you not only out there, but back taking down the milestone runs. Youโll run any distance you want to so long as you have a decent plan... and your comeback and progression proves that.
Thank you, I donโt think it crossed my mind I did it and was reading posts here before I realised I had already done that!
That's a really good amount of time to be out there running so well done. If you can reach 10k in 90 minutes then it'll be a real achievement so well done you. You'll be building lots of stamina and experience so keep going. You'll certainly get there ๐
Very well done on your 60 minute run HappyNoodle, ๐๐คธโโ๏ธ๐๐ฅณ An hour and half sounds brilliant for a first 10k.
I hit the 60mins at the end of week 3 running 7k as well so Iโve switched to the time plan for now.
Great idea to listen to some books for longer runs, Iโll have to look at investing in some headphones, ๐
Well done HappyNoodle. I wasn't brave enough to go for the distance plan straight off. I decided to do the timed one first and then the distance after. But you're nearly there!
Thank you ๐ how are you doing? Iโm going to start S&F again from the beginning as Iโve been off it for so long with my side. Not completely better but not sure if itโs just stiff now or still strained. I do know Iโve got a lot to do to get back to where I was. Are you consolidating, I found the heat made me even slower than usual ๐ how is your journey going?
It's great to have something to rebuild with. I've started mixing in some BHF videos. They have a 10min cardio workout which includes jumping jacks - it felt so alien to my body when I tried jacks a couple of months ago, but had a go last week and could do them, assume down to all the S&F.
I had a week off running (and a bit slack on the exercise) in the heat but have now completed 3 x 5K+SS, 2 x Speed, and 1 x Stamina, with a (not) slow 30min run in the middle. It's so much faster than I would run, but despite the doubts and the peak heart rate I've completed them! I'm now beginning to think about my next move, whether to stick on 3 ie 9 runs or another week after that before moving on to the timed Magic plan. Any thoughts?
Sounds like you are doing AMAZINGLY ๐คฉ there is a Magic plan group starting in September maybe carry on as you are and join that then youโll have company and extra consolidation under your belt!
Thank you. MiniNoodle didnโt want to run in the heat so has had some time off but did W2r2 yesterday and plan is to complete W2 tomorrow. Iโm trying to not make it a chore. Also got us Parkrun wristbands so we can run them together when she gets there, until she gets quicker than me ๐คฃ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ.
Good luck with your 7k at least itโs cooler now that definitely helps. Happy running ๐
