The humidity in Scotland has been so high I thought my running was suffering. I've read up on it so I know why. It's still very humid today but something changed my run felt so much better as if my body has got used to it .
I guess I'm just saying that on todays run I wasn't wishing for it to end.
Happy running allπββοΈπββοΈ

Good run for you today Buddy34 despite the high humidity, I ran 5K this morning at 7.40, but that was part of a rerun of week 3 of C25K, once the 16 minutes were up I ran non stop until the 5K was completed, I hope your dog Buddy wasn't too scared of the thunderstorms we had during the night, the lightning was the most spectacular I have seen for many years.
I'm almost looking forward to Autumn when it cools down. I'm hoping we all find a new spring in our step and realise a new found performance will all this heat/humidity training that we're doing.
My favourite running weather is a nice sunny 10 degrees
Good to know your body can get used to humidity it's the struggle to get there that puts me off ! So congratulations on that. I'm leaving running till tomorrow but it will have to be early to avoid the worst of the heart but then the humidity is higher, can't win really. Roll on Autumn π
Massive thunder and lightning then house alarm woke us at 6. By 8 blue skies so nothing for it but run, goodness the humidity is something else, like you I was ok on the run but when I stopped I had little pools of water round me. Vo2max went back up though so something worked. Glad you had a good run too. Happy running π€
We also had the thunder and lightning but what a beautiful day it is now , 26 degrees ππ
That's great Buddy as I know you've been learning to adapt and embrace the heat on your running journey. Really pleased this one went well. While it's hot we may as well get out there and make ourselves more adaptable and resilient to all weather conditions. Well done on keeping going and best wishes for next week on your new challenge!
Fantastic Buddy! π₯ I had the same feeling this morning, although I did reduce my pace a lot. I set off with 5k in mind, then thought 8k would be ok - ended up doing 10k. Painfully slow, but the feeling of achievement was almost equal to a PB for me! π₯΅βοΈπββοΈπΎ
Exactly cheekychipmunks. I did 10k on Monday , well just short by 0.50 as I could do another step and knowing my husband was waiting for me in the car with a freezing cold bottle of waterπ.
Glad you felt good on your run. Hot here too. Went out early to do a 20 minute interval run. Then a steady 5 minute cool down run home. By that time I looked like I'd run through a rain storm π₯΅. Despite it being overcast first thing it was still humid. We've yet to experience the thunder that's being forcast.
I'm ready for a cool run but I did enjoy this morning βΊοΈ
